Do you ever feel like an animal magnet? I sure do, three weeks ago a dog showed up on the back porch, ate the cat food and begged to come inside. She was white and obviously had puppies somewhere. Very friendly, she stuck around off and on for 4 days. I fed her a little, she mostly lay on the front porch and wagged. Last week the neighbors horse showed up alone at the front porch and then took off down the road, caught him and took him home. Then Sunday morning a duck walked into the yard, got on the porch and demanded food and water. She stayed for a couple days. You have anything like this happen to you? Our neighbors call us the "santuary" because this is just a small sample of who comes to visit.

Animals will always migrate to the people or places that they feel will give them the most love. I believe that there are certain people in this world that are exceptionally responsive to animals and maybe you are one of those.

Thank you for responding, and yes I always have animals at my house.
We moved here in April and had two cardinals, by the end of the season we had thirteen.
We helped raise the babies of the first two and evidentlly they told their friends, so we ended up with the thirteen.
They hung out til this fall and then they all migrated south.
We have pictures of the babies begging food.
Their parents would sit on the porch rails and demand food. So funny.
We have cats and the cardinals would wait til the cats were preocuppied and then come beg!
The parents would come to the front and back door and make noise so we would come feed them. The babies learned this and would do the same.

Never happen to me, I guess it's because I'm not the animal fan type either. One of my neighbor was what we called a cat woman, she always surrounded by some cats. And no if you ask were they hers, she doesn't have one. Sometimes she gave them food, but not everyday. Cats in our neighborhood really like to following her, maybe it's something in her body odor, I don't know.

My mom is sometimes an animal magnet. In her old house she had Mini the cat find her. Then she had Tiger the cat come to live with her. She had Fluffy coming round for dinner and when she moved she took him with her.
My mom has told me stories about her in the past before I was born. Her family found a Boxer dog and they named her Jill. Months later they talked to the lady that bred her. That lady had given her to a couple that had not treated her well. She had run away from them. The lady had been so happy to see that Jill had found a loving and caring home.

You know what I feel the same too! High five! Although mostly are just cats and dogs, coz there really aren't any horses around here, LOL! Although I'd have to say that before we moved, our neighbors at our old apartment have ducks and chickens and they'd always come to our house. The ducks, in particular, would stare at me. Really weird, but cute ^_^. My husband and I would even joke about those animals being able to communicate to each other and would talk about us saying "there are people in that house who wouldn't shoo us!"
I guess animals have this ability to sense our aura or something. And I believe that people like you (and me ) have a calming and welcoming aura to animals.

That duck story is so cute! I wish a duck would come to my doorstep! That is just too adorable! I'm definitely an animal magnet. I went to my boyfriend's last weekend and his cousin's cat was in love with me. He kept laying on me and licking my face. I wanted to take him home with me so bad since I know she neglects him. I just couldn't handle another cat though, I already have four of my own and a guinea pig.

I feel like a dog magnet, but an every-other-animal-repeller. Dogs love me and always wanna play with me, even the ones that their owners describe as being skiddish. The two cats at my parents' house hate me, ducks and geese hate me (which is ironic since my nickname is Goose), deers hate me, and even turtles don't really like me. I spend a lot of my time around nature and animal-life in general, and I don't mean to send out negative vibes toward animals. I guess they just don't like me that much. Maybe I smell funny.
That story about the duck is adorably cute though.
