Looking back at school....

...I would not like to return there. I hear a lot of people saying they loved those years and would sure "return" there. For me it is not like that. Teachers were mean to us and I felt a lot of pressure. I didn't like school. I prefer learning something by simply doing it. Do I even have to mention mean kids? A BIG "pressure valve" exploded inside of me when I finished school. How do you feel about those years?

Like you, I never liked school. There were a lot of bullies in my high school and they made most of everybody's life hell. They had a way of making people feel like crap. I do love the friends that I have in high school though. We were the outcasts who were the target of these bullies but we were able to survive. We have received an invitation for the high school reunion, but we all turned it down. The bullies were the ones who organized the event and it seemed that they are the ones who cannot move on from their lives in high school.
I have never finished college and wasn't able to bond with the people I met there. I rather like the people that I met at work. If given a chance to go back, I would definitely pass.

I was also an outcast and I believe that outcasts learn a lot of life lessons. Being strong and indipendent for instance. I also remember that all the popular kids in scholl didn't do anything special with their life. I see them everyday in my town. They where stars in school, but charcoal in real life.

My school days were a nightmare, not being one of the smartest kids, infact I would say I was rather slow, every day was a struggle, I think I would do better today as I would have a better idea of study and have a yearning to learn but no I don't think I would want to go back.

Teachers are the bad fruits and not students. They do not take the time to help all students. Would you believe that through highschool I did not have anything to do with Math? I still don't know how I finished.

Most people turn out ok if they can find a way, because there are people that just make bad choices. I don't know how. My brother is one, we haven't talked in the last 3 years. A LOT of bad choices.

Some parts of grade school were bad, as I was bullied before I found my group of friends (who I'm still friends with until now.) High school was great in spite of all the drama I went through as a teenager. And my high school friends? We still regularly see each other. Just recently four of us went to the high school at 10 in the evening and asked the guards to let us in. They did and we were able to look around and reminisce. College for me was fun too, but I was too busy studying and working and running the college paper that I didn't have much of a social life.

Very true Although when I look back at the things that concerned me in my teenage years and all my problems then, they now seem so mundane.

Good point. Problems are not really mountains. You just have to understand them and take little steps to overcome them. I can tell you that by experience.

I guess being a teenager is tough all over the world. People can't decide if you are trustworthy or not.

I had my ups and downs, mostly downs and that is one reason I decided not to continue my education. . . that is until I realized that I can take college courses online. One still deals with some bad teachers, but as I am finishing my fourth quarter, I only had two I can complain about. It's really fun and I even made a friend my first year and we been connected on FB and by phone ever since..

This quarter I am taking the last of my English Composition, Creative Writing Fiction, and Art 101. I am trying to earn my "Literary Arts and Science" degree and so far I am doing well, other than math..I have to pass this math class and it is going to take a lot of tutoring and help just to get a passing grade. Because of that struggle, math will be the last class I focus on.

Math is a pain....everywhere. In my last year of Highschool, I was in an Art class. We had creative classes like painting, letters, free hand design and others. We also had math. I will never understand why students that want to be artists have to learn difficult math. Designs need simple math and what we were learning was not for art students!

I want to go back to my grade school days.
I want to be a kid once again,no worries and living carefree.
free from worries and stress and everything.
But, enjoying life, play, study and play.

I'm sure my time was decent enough. In fact it was, but I'd imagine if I did have a chance to go back, I'd start remembering all of the things that I didn't really care about in my school days. There were just a number of times where I think that school was enjoyable but there were also many days where it really is going to rip my hair out more often than not. Then again, school does reflect the nature of life.
So I enjoyed it but I think that it is just for the best that chapter of my life is more than done. There are just going to be many times where thoughts of what happened during my school days does tend to put a small smile on my face. Yet there are other times where the memories are going to be more than bittersweet. Still the memories are grand but it is kind of liberating to be able to move forward through life.

mmmm....i think you are a pretty boy ,what you need is just a little bit of patience.don't think a lot about future, just live and fight now ,when you are a student ,you should learn and practise well ,when you step into society ,you should work hard to support your family ,what we are doing now is set the foundation for future .....good luck ./.

I was never so glad as to get out of high school. I actually became my own person and found myself and who I became when I joined the Army and got to do what I wanted to do instead of being told what to do on a daily basis.
Even though I took some college, it was what I wanted to take instead of having to do a curriculum and being told what courses to take.
My one unfortunate thing that I would turn around because of school is that I would have liked to have done history differently.
I find now I love to read history and learn about all cultures. The way history was picked apart in school it was not a fun learning experience for me.
Now I can pick up a book or watch a special movie and be transpired back to the richness of the hitory and cultures of the era.
Maybe also being in the military brought the importance of history more prominant into my life.

History for students is not for you, a grown-up. Books will provide good information. They are meant to give all the facts and not just enough to fit into a school year. So, don't worry about that.

I am sad to hear you have a bad times during school years but this should not make schooling a bad thing. Yes, there are mean school teachers and classmates but you can also make and have friends in school if you only give it a try. Well if you think you'll do better out of it, then do it. Success comes in through different means and schooling is just one way of having it.

Hi,
I am currently still in school and i love schooling.
If there is a choice, i would rather study forever. However, i know that this i not possible. I guess not all teachers are mean, perhaps only those few that you have met?
Furthermore, working life cannot be compared to studying. When we are working, we like work for the whole day with little rest. However, when we are studying, we have so much time for ourselves!

You can study forever, you just have to find the way. After all we all learn a life lesson everyday. Isn't that studying too?

Are you talking about elementary-high school? Because yeah, I definitely wouldnt want to return there. I can see how people may want to return to their college years, but for the most part I think people are glad when they are finally done with school.
