Timothy Ray Brown was found to have been cured of AIDS through the use of a bone marrow transplant. What's extraordinary about this procedure was the bone marrow came from someone who was *immune* to HIV. Apparently, about 1% of Caucasians have the genetic code that makes them resistant to HIV.
This is a great day for science, but a lot of work is still to be done. Researchers are saying that it will be still be quite some time before a widespread cure could be used given that bone marrow transplants are not exactly easily done. But still, it is a start.

It is good news right? And yes, I agree: I do hope that things would work favorably for everyone.

i think there is one man who is cured before him but he never comes out to the public, he wanted his anonymity so he can move on with his life. The first people I wanted t5o be cured from aids are those who got it by accident. I remember the case of a woman who lost blood from her caesarian birth so she needs a donor, apparently her donor is HIV positive. she got disowned by her husband cos her husband thought she cheated while she didnt.
