I cant stand up anymore.

No more watching calorie counts.
I just want to eat till i'm satisfied and full....
Chop unripe mango, tomatoes, onions with bagoong alamang and red hot pepper.Paired with fried tilapia/fish..Oh my, who would want to stop eating.. Definitely not me.
Our families all time favorite food, we got our rice cooker down and helpless.. :-)
Want some??
Do you mind sharing your families all time favorite food???

bagoong alamang is either "shrimp paste" or there is also another kind of bagoong- "fish sauce" dear
You'll come to know this when you were here....you will forget that T-bone

Hi Tamirs,
I have no clue as to what bagoong alamang is or fried tilapia and I've never tried unripe mango but I'm sure it is all delicious. I do know that feeling of just wanting to eat until you are full and not worrying about calories and all that stuff. I usually eat very healthy but then I have those days where I just don't care. I want to eat just for the enjoyment of it and I don't care about calories and whether or not it's "good for me". Hope you enjoyed!

sids,
You can try it, it's really a good dipping for fried or grilled fish or pork.
You just need to replace the "bagoong"- shrimp paste to fish sauce (if shrimp paste is not available in your area)
-unripe mango chopped finely
-tomatoes and onion -chopped finely too
-mix together
then add shrimp paste or fish sauce according to your taste (how salty you like)
black sauce or soy sauce can also be use as alternative (but not tasty like shrimp paste and fish sauce)

oh rice cookers are so good, I was never good at cooking rice even though most people seem to think it is so easy, I love mine but I must be honest my rice is never as good as the take away shop, so I wouldn't mind some of yours...

My mom's pinakbet is the best. We used to have it for lunch paired with fried fish. I just love the taste of those vegies when mixed up. NOw, I am no longer in our province, hence I haven't tasted my mother's pinakbet for a while. I'll be going home to our province this holiday season and Im so excited to taste those emnu cooked by my mom. I just wish nothing would cause a delay to my vacation.

Wow Pakbet, maybe you are from Pampanga or Pangasinan,or somewhere close to that province...Pinakbet with lots of Siling Haba\green taiwanese pepper. right? What we want in Pakbet is we will take out the Siling haba then mix it with Fish Sauce..
To all our non Filipino Friends we are so sorry, Pakbet is a dish with mixed vegetables like eggplant, cabbage, sweet potato, bitter melon, okra, shrimp, fish and sometimes squash in fish sauce. :-)
