Tomorrow is Rememberance day. I am sad to see that fewer and fewer people wear poppies in rememberance of the brave men and women who gave their lives in the first World War and all subsequent wars. Let us not forget them.
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place: and in the sky
The larks still bravely singing fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the dead: Short days ago,
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved: and now we lie
In Flanders fields!
Take up our quarrel with the foe
To you, from failing hands, we throw
The torch: be yours to hold it high
If ye break faith with us who die,
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields
Composed at the battlefront on May 3, 1915
during the second battle of Ypres, Belgium

Hi Sketch,
I don't think celebrate is actually what we should do on Rememberance or Veteran's day. We should remember those who gave their lives and yes, reflect on the insanity of war. I am a pacifist as well, however, I believe there is such a thing as a justifiable war such as the Second World War, where one evil dictator would have enslaved a very large part of Europe if war had not been declared. Tomorrow I will go to the Rememberance Service, put my poppy on a wreath and pray that we will never have another war. You should wear your country's flag on your day of Rememberance.

Good for you. I went to the service in Toronto. It was so cold, but I was happy to see such a huge crowd of people. Old and young. I was also glad to see so many school children with their teachers.
