I am very excited to hear this! I was all about layaway and they quit doing it for a while. Its back but with restrictions.
You can only do layaway on certain things.... electronics, toys, and fine jewelry.
Which works for me because I do most of my shopping in toys and electronics.
There is more.... each item must be $15 or more.
I will still do layaway. We usually save and save to go all out on the kids!

Now is this all year round or is it just for the holidays? The reason why I ask is because I used to work at Walmart for almost eight years. When I first started working there they had layaway all year round, but then they stopped layaway & brought it back for the holidays only then once they were over it was gone once again. So is layaway back for the whole year or is it just a holiday thing?

It is just for the holiday. Last year they didnt have the option for layaway which was my only reason for going to kmart. I was very disappointed in both stores that year .... walmart/no layaway.... kmart/screwed up my layaway.
There I was at the last minute shopping for Christmas because of kmarts screw up.

Yayyy!!!yes I too love Walmarts layaway options. I can't believe that they would get rid of it in the first place though. It's suppossed to be a bargain store so the people that shop there are trying to save money any way they can! Myself included. I think it goes from September 15th - December 15th. Woohoo!

Walmart is awesome for bringing it back even if it is just for a certain time of year. I dont know if each walmart is the same but here it started October 17th - Dec. 16th and its not offered on Black Friday.
So excited to start! lol

Walmart is my favorite store because of the prices, there are alot of things that I can only find there. But,there are also some very good prices at Target and things that I can only find in that store. But,Targets return policy is poor.I never have any problem returning anything to Walmart.
I was sad when Malmart cancelled their layaway procedure. And them coming back with it is good for some items. But,I also get clothes and toys under $15 at Walmart as well. And this layaway is only for Christmas.

Walmart has great prices, great return policy, and convenient locations. I love everything about walmart.
As far as Target goes I will not shop there. Target doesnt support gay equality and because I have family that is gay I dont support Target lol.

I thought layaway was just back just for Christmas? I loved layaway at Walmart! I used it alot and I was so pissed when they discontinued it! Without it I've had trouble savings up money for stuff I really need like clothes! I wish there was not so many restrictions! Thanks to that I can't use it!

It is just back for Christmas but wasnt available last year.
The restrictions are not the bad imo but I usually spend alot on Christmas anyway.

I was super happy to hear about Walmart starting up their layaway program again even though it had restrictions. I've recently been laid off so layaway might just be the only possible way for us to buy for Christmas this year. I wish it was on clothes too though, but oh well, can't have everything. We will end up going and buying lots of toys for the boys and games, since we have a Family Game Night every Friday.
