When I was a younger kid I used to try and capture all the stays and "save
" them in cages. I was stubborn and just knew I could tame them into being more domestic house cats and that I could feed them all too and care for them. There was over a dozen cats I put into unused rabbit cages my best friends family gave me for my venture they though very human and good for the community too. So I could then find person's who needed a good pet and be able to give them one too. Well, as it turned out when cats are born this way without people around right away they are just naturally more wild and very hard to tame again from this. Out of the dozen only about two or three where able to get homes and they where very hyper still. The rest just scratched hissed and bit on you. they were taken to the human society which was tough and sad for me since I was sure they would all be humanly disposed of. So I learned young that taking the strays is not a good idea at all for many reason's. Still, if a cat is just used as a mouser around and not fed allot I will show it attentions and even feed it at times even if I know who it's owner is. I just love the cats, now I have just one which is o.k. with me too. We did have about five of them for a while in our home in the city which turned out to be too many. We gave the rest homes and kept the only one we had before, her Mother was sweet and a good mouser too. She was sadly hit by a car and died, her kitty lives on now with us though she is going on ten years old now maybe 13 but she has lived a good long life for a cat now already and I do hope she lives longer since I would miss her very much. I give her treats and cat nip, and buy her toys, and she sleeps in my bed when it's too cold. Even though she does have a heated cat bed under the porch she sleeps in too. She stands in my window sill and watches the night and sun rises, she purrs every time I pet here. She scratches at my door when she wants to go back outside. She is very close with the dogs we have and even shares food with them too. She has blue grey smokey hair and yellow eyes. She is tiny compared to some cats but tough enough too. She meows at me sometimes and I swear it sounds like she is saying Mom. There are so very many things I love and admire about here the list would just go on and on here. Without her around I just know my days would seem more sad and gloomy to take for sure. Thanks, A.B.

Well I am no cat lover so can't really share any history based on my own experiences. But I know a friend who considers her cats her kids and give them just about the best in life. They are treated kindly and even sleeps on my friends bed. I can't really imagine myself sleeping with cat

Thanks, salonga. LOL, you sound just like my Mom talking to me about my cat loving ways here she is not a cat or dog lover like I am. I too think of the pets as like kids. Spoil them and play with them allot, I don't see a thing wrong with this if you currently don't have children and never have had any this helps heal this loss feeling within a person just a little bit then it's a good thing also if you are an empty nest parent now like my Dad. Mom is just too stubborn to admit the reality of her life yet, there are no grangchildren coming for them and there kids are all full grown so our pets are the second best to little one's for us here now today. Thanks,A.B.

What a nice story. I love cats too but my mom doesn't really like them. When my female cat had babies. She put them away when they get a little older. We have three cats, 1 male and 2 female. What I din't like about my male cat is the he poop in the garden so my mom always clean the mess everyday. Sometime he sprays everywhere that's why my mom always get mad. What I don't like about my female cat is they always have babies and my mom just put them away when those kittens grow up. I feel sad about those kittens because I don't know if they are okay or not.

Hi, angelbelle578 This would make me very sad too, and all i can tell you is just hang in there with your Mom she probably just can't understand your closeness too these animals some people don't. My Mother is the same way too, she says she won't want for any small animals around her home at all. They make me feel happy and comforted though and I think because she loves me and wants to see me happier too she just tolerates the pets around. This sounds like the same with your Mother too, well my blessings and good lucks too both of us that we may always still have our little friends around us still. Oh, and with the lost cats this is pretty tough but you have to be strong and put it more in the past if you can. Thanks,A.B.

I love cats as well, I think there is a lot about cats that we are not aware of or even care to try and find out...I read how sometimes they are used in Nursing Homes to give love to elderly people in their last days and it has been noted that the cats know when the passing time is about to happen, so I think cats and even dogs are very much connected to the spirit life...they are beautiful animals, harmless to us and necessary to keep mice and rats away....

Thanks for the comment here, lilaclady. I do know first hand having been a nurses aide in an elderly home for a while that they do us animals like cats to sooth and comfort the dying too. I have heard and do believe of there connection to the afterlife too and that they know the time of one's passing too. I like that they keep our nasty mice and rats away too truly and amazing even mystical animal I agree:) thanks, A.B.

This is so great wish I knew somebody like this, since my cat is getting older and I know if she passes I will want another cat. I of course try not to think of this too often it's very sad and hurtful too me but I just know myself and how calming and soothing they are to me to have close by. I would miss a cat just too terribly for too long you know. You are lucky to know such a person this is a blessing that he can do this for him and for others too so nice:)Thanks, A.B.
