I am currently renting computer while I am waiting for a friend of mine. I was able to sit beside this lady who has a Japanese boyfriend. The Japanese was really friendly the only problem is that he doesn't communicate in English or Tagalog. He speaks to Filipino people just like a Japanese people. The language or communication ends in Sign Language. He uses Japanese as the Universal Language. But I admire that even though language has a big difference two race. He still make an effort to use sign language to express his way of communicating to people.

lol :D Japanese are proud of their language and there's only a handful of them willing to learn a second language IF u have been travelling around, u can actually find that there are always things, translated in their language, catered for them ^^ For them, if they are not able to communicate properly, sign language is the next best thing. With my numerous encounter with japanese, i have seen them all and they are indeed hilarious people.. haha

When you love someone, language should never be a barrier. His efforts alone shows how much he loves his girl. It is best to convey yourself with the best possible method that could be understood by anyone.

I admire people who are friendly, especially if they go out of their way to be so.

English is today´s universal language, and it is a must, if you want to comunicate with people from diferent countries. Sign language, is, of course, a very limited one, but, we humans, regardless the language, will always find a way to comunicate with each other, somehow. I hope this japanese man succeded in his efforts to make other people know his mind.

It is indeed amazing when one who doesn't know how to speak the language would find a way to convey what he/she wants to say. And yes, the sign language is the best thing to do. It's so admirable for that Japanese to do that, just so he can express what he feels.

It is quite hard to communicate inh sign language but if that is the only way possible to understand each other then why not? So this Japanese was able to communicate at least. However I think his girlfriend should take time to teach him our language just as one of my friends who also has Japanese boyfriend did. I believe learning our language will be easier for him because he is already in our country. Immersion is actually the best way to easily learn the language of any country.

Mylot is already a part of us for wherever we are, we remain connected. Anyway, at least he knows to communicate still. :-) That was good when he was trying his best, but it is still best to know the so called Universal Language.

hello syoti. i think that is nice of Japanese. being friendly since he is not at his home country and making an effort to communicate because he can chose to be silent all the time but then he reached out. i know of some foreigners here in our place who are also like that, making an effort to communicate

hi syo! that's really recommendable but that is really hard if we cannot really relate what we meant through words. sometimes sign language could have misconceptions. some others might take it the wrong way so we should be very careful. but with this Japanese guy, he is impressive.

True love really surprises us all at times... If their hearts can talk to one another, languge doesnt have much work to do. I pass all my regards to them. I feel they will decide some language to settle in future...

It's indeed difficult to communicate when someone does not know how to say it in English. I remembered a Chinese colleague before. We both are new in the company that time and she hardly speaks English, all she knows is hello. But she always carried with her an electronic dictionary and I used to teach her some words too. She really does not know any word before that and she most most of the time she used sign language. But we became really closed and we talk a lot everyday and when I don't understand what's she trying to say I also try to communicate with her by sign language ... eventually he learned to speak English, though not perfect but at least we can understand sometimes what she's trying to say.

people like that japanese person you met have great potential to meet more friends and learn the english language faster. Since he isn't shy, he will put more effort into communicating. It would be best if he took english classes to help him communicate better with people from other countries. English is an important language to learn, especially now that a lot of us travel abroad and visit each others' countries.

That's the best way to communicate then (sign language) i also admire people who tried their best even using a sign language to show they want to make friends. I bet, friendly people knows what to do to show their affection.

it needs time, and finally we found out later that even Japanese language is easy to understand especially if your partner is a Japanese.... when i was small early years before, all of my friends here in Iloilo doesn't know how to speak Tagalog Filipino main native language, but went to Manila for a vacation of 2 months, when going back to Iloilo, wow, they are now speaking Tagalog language even though their friends ask them Hiligaynon and Karay-a language - still answer it in Tagalog...
