Hey everyone. I was sitting here thinking about bowling and I didn't realize how long it had been. It's been years since I've been bowling and I would love to go sometime. There is a bowling alley really close to where I live but I have never been to that one. Half of the building is the bowling alley and the other half is a game room. They have black lights and all kinds of bright glowing colors and it looks really cool. They also have a Put Put course outside which is something else I would like to do again. I haven't played put put in years either and I find both bowling and put put really fun. Have you ever went bowling or played put put? How long has it been?

So, are you and your girlfriend, (Who I haven't seen in a while, I miss her..) going bowling soon? I haven't bowled in over 20 years, and I love to go, but my husband is quick to point out that I talked him into selling his bowling ball, (we needed the money)and he won't let me live it down. When we first moved to where we live now, there used to be a bowling alley where one of my children went one time with a school group and I would have suggested it then, but once again my husband brought up how I "made" him sell his bowling ball..
Then a couple years later, the building caught on fire and instead of repairing and reopening it, it was sold and now has 2-3 businesses in it. There is one across the state line, and my daughter has gone, but I won't mention it to my husband, he likes to hold things over me like that. I will just have to wait until I can find my own group to go with.

Yeah, I also would need a job to pay my way and find friends not only can also afford to go, but would like to.. I live in a small town, so there are not many people who I think would like to go bowling. Still, only 1 or 2 people would make a nice small group and I hope you and Angelee gets to go soon, I think you both would enjoy it..:)

It is hard to make friends in a small town, but you're right, just 1-2 people could go bowling and have a lot of fun. I hope we get to go bowling too, I know we would enjoy it.

We're not planning on going or anything. It's just something I would really like to do. I think we would have a lot of fun. She's only been one time when she was younger. I've been a few times and I loved it. You should form a group of friends and start bowling again. As soon as we get jobs and have the extra money then we will probably go bowling.

Hi HellsButcher,
Oh I hope you decide to go! It'd be really cool if you could get a couple of friends to go along with you. Gosh it's been years since I've gone bowling myself. My ex-husband and I used to go to the one local quite regularly. When my kids were younger, I used to take them candlepin bowling and as the got older, to the regular bowling alley. Put-put, I have played more recently. We have a place not too far from here and I used to take my own kids and over the summer took the grandkids. Our bowling alley is pretty cool too although it doesn't sound as fancy as yours. It does have a small game room and also a bar in which you can order a drink or some food. Sometimes they have a live band play in the bar area. Well, I hope you go and have a great time!

I would like to go if I ever get the money. It's been years since I've done either and it would be nice. I don't really know many friends that go bowling but me and my fiancee could go and maybe invite my older brother and his wife, or my younger brother and his fiancee. Either way, I would really enjoy it. The local bowling alley is pretty nice but as I said I haven't bowled there. The one I bowled at was smaller and just as good. The smaller ones usually are a little cheaper which is good because we all like to save money.

You'd be surprised at how many people like those things but just haven't done them in years. Others never have but would have a great time. I agree...the smaller ones are probably cheaper and often will offer specials. Money would be a factor for me too. I was surprised when I took the grandkids to play putt putt at how expensive it was and of course you have to get icecream after...tradition. It wasn't real outrageous but still quite a bit more than when I used to take my kids.

Yea, It can get pretty expensive. My older brother and dad both worked at a place called F3 (Family Fun something lol). They had mini golf, bumper boats, a paintball arena and a go cart track outside, and inside was nothing but arcade games and laser tag. It was awesome. We got discounts on mini golf and sometimes we got to do stuff for free. Those were some good times.

I believe it has been about two years since I've been bowling. That was when I took my children bowling for the first time. That is something that they would like to do again, but being that we are in a very tough financial period in our family, that is something that we've not been able to afford. As far as putt-putt, it is something that I did all the time when I was growing up but there are no longer any courses around here.

Financial problems are our problem too. I would love to be able to take my fiancee to go play put put but no job so, no money. I haven't done either in a long time and I would love to go again.

You should go. When I get the money I will probably take my fiancee bowling because we have never been together. I love it. It's a great stress reliever and I have a lot of fun. I agree, I hate the shoes too lol.

I agree. Bowling and put put are a lot of fun. I'm sorry to hear you can't bowl due to your nerve damage. I'm not great at bowling or put put but I just play to have fun. After all that's what it's about. :)

OMG..... I loved bowling...It was a game to really really wind down
from a stressful day...Hitting those pin with force felt great...
however I have not bowled in over 10 years...I have a bad back that
had me calling it quits..I use to bowl in three different leagues
at any given bowling season. I even have won plaques and trophies
because I was a pretty decent bowler with a pretty decent average.
thanks for reminding me of good moments!!!!

I agree. Bowling could be used as a stress reliever. I never played much but when I did I really liked it. I've never been really good enough to be in a league and plus it's not really my thing. I would rather bowl for fun with friends.

It's been a while for me too, I often play Bowling when I go to the Cinema with Friends as we sometimes make a day of it as they are within about 100 metres from each other.

Bowling reminded me of billiards. Yes, I used to play it like crazy.. wouldn't go a day without it for about three years, then it became a weekly play, then maybe monthly, then I just..forgot about it. It's been 5 years maybe.. I don't even know.

I never played it a lot but when I did I enjoyed it. You mentioned billiards and I have to say I love playing pool. It's one of my hobbies and I go to the pool hall every chance I get.
