Need help with creating blog.

Hi friends,
I have been hearing about making money by posting adds on blog or website and stuff.
But we all know that all these things work only if the blow has got good traffic.
Can you help with suggestion/tips/advices regarding creating blog and getting traffic towards it?
What do you do to attract traffic to your site/blog?

My understanding here is you need some traffic to your site, am I correct. I do have a website and I am starting out too so I cannot claim to be some expert. However I did learn about getting traffic in relation with PR and search engine ranking. In order to achieve that you need to index your page as well as getting back links.
I had setup a group to help guide and improve your website. Because I alone might not be able answer all the questions but as a group maybe we be able to find all the answers. But this is a private group. If you are interested, let me know and I would sent you the invitation.

Your blog should first of all connect with the audience and should not be personal. You can start by inviting your friends to your blog through twitter and FB and stuff. If it is good enough more people will pour in. Use original content (The hardest part) and also make a regular blog post regularly. For more refer to ProBlogger.net.
