Dear friends, All of you agree with me, time is valuable and we all doing our works according to the time or checking the time in between. We too have a wall clock in our home but I didn’t realize that it has an importance role in my life till its battery ends one day in late night. So the next morning was so awful for me to check the time in watch or mobile. In the evening we purchased the battery and fix the problem and the clock running again like earlier. Two days later, my kids were busy on playing cricket inside house, I was in kitchen and I heard the loud voice for breaking some glass, I guessed something they (kids) broken by hitting their ball so I just peeped from kitchen and seen that the clock is down and the glasses shattered everywhere. I overhead, my elder son saying to his younger brother, I won’t play cricket inside house again in my life (vow!!! What a great decision) and they started to clean the room, where I interrupted and asked them to leave (as it is glass and I don’t want any physical hurt for them). To my surprise the clock was still fine and working properly so I placed it in the wall again by thinking we can fix the glass later. My 4 year old son climbs up on the table and played with its needles, I haven’t noticed it, now the clock is stopped its service. The morning time is so hectic and looking on the clock make me mad. To sum up, I realized a wall clock how important was in my day to day life. What about you, how do you find the time, in a wall clock, a time piece, in a watch or in a mobile? Do you have the habit of checking time in between your works? Please share November 11, 2011.

Hi didi Awesome Kids I loved to read this for sure. They took the clock down and I remember me and my bro took down those tubelights and anything we could not reach to I am just so embarrassed today... Here is what has been happening - My watch has gone insane (like me) since the last 2 days. Yesterday, I was 100% sure that it was Wednesday and only in the night I realized it was 10th Nov. 2011 and Thuraday. I even signed all the assignments with that day... Heck... And that was not all. Today I woke up and it showed me Saturday. I had forgotton all about yesterday being Thursday and 10th Nov. I though I was lucky to remember my friend's birthday. Called her up and she told me that it is on 12th. I was confident that it is 12th today and also told her - In ages, I have remembered a date correctly and called to wish you and you say today is not 12th... Awww.... that is enough for me to explain from the past two days that Time and CLOCKs are Essential... Poor me, I have also used up all emoticons so no more can be used... GRR!

Hello Sidhu, I really enjoyed your story and had a good laugh. First time you remember a friend’s birthday and wished her in time and it turned out wrong just because of your watch. I can’t control my laugh.. It is high time to get your watch into a workshop. Ok dear don’t worry your didi can gift you a new watch when we meet. So be happy and smile now.

Hello Shibham, So you are laughing loudly and I can guess how much you enjoyed their activities. I had warned them before start playing, don't play cricket inside the house, he started to say.. I wish to be in the cricket team in school and I have no opportunity to practice it in a park or outside and I can play only here.... his speeches are on....... means endless so I kept silent.... The tic tic clock is not seen anywhere now but we have one in our native still and I don't felt any annoyance with that. Ok do support the 'tigers'

I can't provide space for them to play cricket, it is a truth. I am reaching home at 7 PM after work and now it is already dark at 6 pm. Parks are there but who is going with them after 7 to play cricket in darkness. Secondly I have so many other works at home including theirs studies. Unfortunately there is no time for me escort them for playing cricket. In earlier home one of his friends was residing next opposite so I can send him with this boy to the park. He plays cricket in school and I know he is interested in sports and games much, but what can I do in this city?

As you have not provided good ground to them to play, then how can you say that they are guilty?

Hi Sreekala, I do find checking time is quite important for me, without a watch or clock, I will definitely hard to manage my time. I used to wearing a watch and there was once, it broke down after over 8 years of service. I think it must have serve me long enough to stop working anymore, and from that money onwards, my schedule and life become disorganized just because I do not have a watch to check the time. I have to keep looking at my phone for the time in the morning so that I won't be late to work, when I have make an appointment with someone, I have to keep checking on my phone, that period really make my life disorder until I bought another watch.

Hi yspmyl, I hope you will buy a new watch very soon. I too don’t have a watch now. Earlier my preparation is complete for office or for an outing when I wear my watch. My watch has taken by my niece and she given another one for me, the battery is down for that still I could not put new cells for it (I have done it once but it worked for only one week so I got angry and stopped to wear the same). I can understand the annoyance by checking the time in mobile because I just gone through the same. Both, me and my hubby haven’t scold the kids for breaking the clock (what is the use of scolding after breaking it) but he is not so curious to repair it and it seems it is punishment for all of us.

It is funny to look on the clock, if the minute needle is on 3 then within minutes it will reach to 6, I saw the needle is jumping from 3 to 6 but the journey from 6 to 9 is difficult and time consuming, here the time is getting adjusted and showing almost correct time. (I think my son modulated the needles)

Hi Sreekala, I believe your wall clock did not spoiled but just that you need to push the needle or the pointer back in then it should be able to work again.

Hi Sree! As a mother,my wall clock in my bedroom is very important. You see,my baby daughter is a late sleeper, sometimes we get to sleep at 1am already, not knowing about the time 'cause we're already vey much enjoying our play, haha! She still drinks her milk in feeding bottles and every time I give her milk,I look at my wall clock to see the time intervals of her drinking milk time. I usually give her milk every four hours or more. And if I see that it is not yet four hours passed,I don't give her milk yet, haha!

Dear mtr, I thought that my kids are late sleepers… they are sleeping at 12 in midnight and if the lights are on beyond that time, they don’t care to sleep but the problem is in morning, both are going to school and it is very difficult to wake them up from the bed for school. My eyes are always in the clock and am getting tensed when they keep on sleeping.

Wall clock is very important and inseparable in my day-to-day life. When I get up in the morning, after seeing my open hands first, I look at the wall clock in the bed room to see if I woke up late. Then run to kitchen to make coffee as one by one of my family members will come for morning coffee. Then look at the kitchen wall clock several times while preparing breakfast and lunch box for my daughter as she will not wait if it is late, as she will be late for her college and I will be sad for whole of the day as I sent her without food. Then to switch off the pressure cooker and water motor, I should check the wall clock of kitchen or hall. To go out in time or catch a bus, for anything and everything, looking at wall clock is very very important in my life. That is why I fixed wall clocks in all the places in my house except in bathroom.

Hello Buchi, How are you dear, it has been long time you have not appeared in mylot. Hope your life is going on well. I am so glad to see you again. Now about the topic, I understand you are depending much on the clocks to make it sure your works are going on in time. Yes, we need to look the time to switch on the water motor and switch off so that we get an idea how much time you need to fill the water tank. I too depend on my clock to switch on and off it. A mother should worry if kids went off without the food so you have to be in time. I know you are a great mother indeed. Thank you so much for joining dear. Have a great weekend and nice time always.

Yes, I whole-heartedly agree with you about the wall clock. I have my phone, I have my wristwatch, I have the kitchen stove and the radio all showing the time, but if the wall clock is wrong, I feel that there is something missing. I guess it has become a habit to look at this each morning.. Strange really. I also like to put my wristwatch on when I go out, even though I have my phone with the time on, it means I have to get it out of my pocket and look at it.. Perhaps that's me with a lazy habit! _Derek

Hello derek, I think it is just because of the habit. I had the habit of wearing my regularly and without the same it was very difficult for me till it stops working. I know the cells are over and I replaced the cell but within one week it stopped again so I stopped to use the service of watch. Now I am used without my watch. Thank you so much for joining. Wall Clock - The old Wall Clock in my Study Room
Hi dear friend! Your children are just like my little ones. Mine also love to play with crickets but I am happy they have not broken anything yet so far. To me a wall clock is of utmost important especially when at home. I have one in the kitchen, one in the living room, one in my study room and one in the master bedroom. I don't actually wear wrist watch at home and even when I do, it is more convenient for me to just look at the wall clock to know the time because it is bigger and can be seen even without the help of my reading glasses. With wrist watch or mobile I would be needing the aid of my eyeglasses before I could read the time. Actually to me a wrist watch is more for the purpose of fashion and not for knowing the time unless of course I am on the road. On the other hand, my mobile is only for communicating and very seldom do I consult it about time unless I am on the road and have forgotten to wear a watch. With the many chores I have to do, every tick of the clock matters and I would not want any second wasted. So if there is no wall clock, it would be so time-consuming to wear reading glasses first to know the time. So to me a wall clock is the most convenient time-tracking device because I just have to raise my head a bit to to know the time.

Hi dear, Happy New Year to you first of all (I know I am late but it does not matter). I can understand how difficult for you to look the time in wrist watch or mobile, so a clock is more convenient for sure. We can depend on wall clock in between works at kitchen too, to reach a mobile or a wrist watch, is really time consuming. Good your kids have not done any naughty things by playing cricket. Thank you so much for your reply. Have a great time ahead.

I cannot believe this. Just yesterday three of our wall clocks stopped working of which 2 needed batteries and one needed oiling which is a cuckoo clock. I was almost paralysed without them. We kept our table clocks next to our bed as also one wrist watch but this morning the moment our gardener walked in I sent him packing to get us the batteries. Life without working wall clocks? I simply cannot imagine what it would be.

Hi dear, Fortunately we owned only one (we are living in a two room flat so one clock is enough for us and it is located to get the view from all other places in the house) and there was small time piece, it also stopped working before two years just by the activity of my younger son. But the wall clock was safe as he could not reach his hand there . I hope your clocks start working now.

I really do need to know the time a lot of the time. There is just something about not knowing the time at any time is really going to drive me more than insane to say the least. I feel like I am not going to get anything done. Of course, it's not really going to be something that I'll look at each and every moment. Still there are points where I do get to a certain stopping place where I'd really like to check to see how long did that take. So really, time for me is a measure of progress. Now, granted, I think that there is a pretty good chance where I might be able to function without one. However it would be such a strange and agitating experience that I'm not sure if I do want any part of it at all whatsoever. And there have been times where I have been caught in that situation. Looking at a clock that is not there. Which actually causes me to look for the time more often when it's not there. As if the clock would magically appear.

Whenever a wall clock gets stopped(because of battery) then I just feel exactly like you mentioned. Its feel like we are missing something. There are wrist clock and mobile, but still when I am at home, whenever I need to see time I firstly look at the wall only.

A wall clock or any clock for that matter is so important to me also. I could not live without it. I probably look at it about every half hour or so constantly checking the time. It used to make the day go by so slow when I was in school. I would keep looking at the clock waiting for the hour to be done and it only made it seem longer. I think it still has the same effect most of the time, so I try not to look at it but I am never succesful.
