Two bowlers in a week win Man of the Match award on debut!!

While the general focus is on batsmen, this week, we had two debutant bowlers win the Man of the Match award on their debuts for 5 wicket hauls. Ashwin won the Man of the Match award in the match against West Indies for bagging 6 second innings wickets and a match haul of 9 wickets. A couple of days later, Vernon Philander won the Man of the match for an incredible debut which saw him pick 5 second innings wickets against Australia for 15 runs for a match haul of 8 wickets in all!!
So the bowlers are coming back!!

Yap,it would be good news for the teams if the debutant shows their qulity in first match.So it will help them in long run for their carrier.Aswin is a quality bowler as we saw him IPL and in ODI.I saw Vernon.He is really a good fast bowler having good pace and bounce and sewing also.

I think both these are good news for the respective teams. For India, with Bhajji losing his cutting edge we needed to have a good off spinner coming in, so Ashwin seems to fill that cup. For SA, with Kallis reducing his bowling load, SA was looking for a good third bowler who could bat a bit, so Philander seems to fill that gap.

That's right great week for bowlers!
Also both matches were low scoring in most of the innings!

Yeah, two debutant got the MOM award for their fantastic bowling performance which took their team to victory.
Ashwin and Philander deserved the MOM award.
This weeks looks good for the debutant bowlers.....

normally batsmen get the majority of MOM awards.
Its good to see bowlers getting man of the match award.
That too for debutants..
Both exhibited superb bowling, and both the team won the matches.
I think both these, Ashwin and Philander deserved this award for their performance.
This will definitely boost up the youngsters.

There are many parallels between these two test matches played one in India and the other in South Africa apart from debutant bowlers bagging Man Of The Match. In both the tests hosts won the match coming from behind trailing long way in first innings. In both matches Host played second and appeared most vulnerable. Nobody thought either of them would win the match.

i was shell shocked to find aussies reeling and staring at defeat ..for once i had the doubt ..was it austria or australia ??? my god the debutant philander was simply "outstanding" and deserved that....ashwin he doesnt need an introduction after all does he ???
