Everybody wants you to be perfect. Religion wants you to be righteous. Society wants you to be sexy, beautiful or handsome. Everyone wants you to be rich and successful. Why aren't you perfect????
I guess it's good to have high expectations but doesn't anybody really Understand?? Life isn't about being perfect. Life is about learning and growing as people. We are all doing this perfectly. God is seeing to that through the lessons He sends.
Be who you must! It's a part of the plan! Listen to the advice of others, but walk your own path! Life's lessons are best learned that way!
Hmmm??? Maybe there is perfection to you after all. What do you think??

I'll ask another question. Why we have to be perfect?
Is the meaning of perfect is righteous, sexy, beautiful or handsome, rich, and successful?
When we feel that we must be perfect, we will try our best to make it happen, to reach that expectations. But, if we are already perfect just as the mentioned thing, what we'll do next? we'll start to lose our purpose and unconsciously destroy our perfect-being by our self.
You don't have to reach others expectation, just reach your own purpose, your own destination, your own way.

You mean that you couldn't live with yourself if you had to live with another you??? I've got aspirin for that headache. You might just learn a lot about yourself watching yourself. OK, I understand. It's just more interesting with different people besides there could be only one Jennyze.

One who is perfect is not human but deity. No man in the world so perfect that he has no shortcoming. However that does warrant our letting things drift or taking things as they are.We must be strict with ourselves and do our best to become an outstanding person.

We had better do what suits well with our abilities,Neither have inferiority complex nor aim too high.

You're right! Jesus said "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God," not 'Seek ye first a dominating position in the Kingdom of God' (though--if you seek the Kingdom of G*d--G*d and/or his servants will see that you get lifted to the position best suited to your powers).
Just remember this about the Kingdom of G*d---IT'S NOT ABOUT YOU!

Your first mistake is holding unto the petty things of mankind like having power. With God there is no rank, power, servants. Everyone is equal. Of course, everyone is willing to volunteer if they like. I didn't realize until recently that I was a volunteer. I volunteered to help with a very special child of God who has been very troubled and blind to so very much. Though the journey has been hard, this child of God holds in his hands great power to make a difference in so many lives if only he could understand the big picture. I will carry on with this troubled child of God for the potential to bring light is great. As with this child and so many of us, we must rise about those petty things mankind holds so dear. They prevent so much when we hang onto them.
Lots of Love and Kindness!!

Perfection and imperfection exists in degrees. This also implies that there is something that is most perfect, or something that the scale is measured by. Perfectionism to an extent is good; but like everything, and the goal of this site: Find Your Balance. Try to be a completionist. Rather than fixating on presenting the perfect document, understand that getting feedback/results is more important. Conclusion since imperfection exists, therefore, there must be perfection!

Hi bird: I don't think the ultimate goal of religion is to make you perfect. We are humans and we are always growing up and improving to be better. We can be better but only GOD is perfect. We have models, we have examples. We can look at them for inspiration and always remember that we are in a way to be better. I think same applies with society. Just don't let that the idea of perfection affects you.

OK. Then we should not allow others to make the choices for us by defining how we should be. By chosing for ourselves, the lessons are better learned when the consequences return. Sometimes the consequences can be wonderful. Consequences aren't always bad.

Indeed, I AM perfect; but not according to the world. For according to the world, "perfect" is 'exactly like a perfect example.' And while parts of me are exactly like a perfect example, 'variety is the spice of life!'

It's a little like that movie: It's a wonderful life. If you weren't in this world exactly as you are and chosing your own choices, there would be a void somewhere. Besides, that perfect example you talk about comes from mankind so it should, at the very least, be questioned. I can see you have already done that with Variety. It would be a mighty boring world without the variety of us all. It couldn't be perfect without it.

I think that when we were commanded to be perfect as Jesus is perfect, He meant that if we are on the path to perfection the we are on the path that will lead to living in the presence of God. All of the scriptures say that there is only one that is perfect and that is Jesus Christ. Since that is known fact, then why would we be commanded to do the impossible? There-fore, it is a progressive state and cannot be attained in this life. Perfection can only be attaimed with the guidance of the Holy Ghost. On that and personal revelation I make my stand.

God is teaching His children through our free choices. That's why it is important to make our own choices rather than allow others to control or to choose for us. God is leading us all to perfection. Holy books are all written by mankind. One should always question rather than assume they are fact.
