Being in a family of one big brother and one little sister, that totals to three including me, I can cite advantages of both having a sister and a brother. That's why I want to hear from you what advantages can you express having a sister?

So sad I could not even say anything about having a sister coz I only have brothers. I actually am slightly jealous about my bestfriend coz she has a lot of sisters, 5 sisters plus her that makes them 6 girls in the family with one brother. So she gets to share her secrets, old and new clothes and things, and go out with them. She also has a brother so that would be such a good thing. When I was younger, I always dream of having a little sister. But not so lucky to have one. Mom and I treats each other like a sister so I'm now satisfied with it

You're right about having sisters or a sister, sharing secrets is the best part and having common interests and talking about them is very fun. I also know of someone who is an only child and what she does is being giving quality time with her girl friends and at the same time, bonding with her parents. :)

Yeah most of the time I go out with my mom.. it's very seldom I go out with my girl bestfriend since she's having her own family now. I'm the only daughter (but has 2 brothers). Mom and dad, whenever I asked them before to give me a little sister, tells me that I should be happy that I am the oldest and youngest girl in the family BTW, thanks for the BR niks!

I think brothers are more for protection and sisters are more for friendship. I also have a brother and I have two sisters and while I love my brother I do not know where I would be without my sisters. They have been more then sisters to me they are my best friends and no important moment in my life would be complete without their presence. I guess there are just things you can feel comfortable telling your sisters that you would never tell your brother and besides a trip to the spa with your brother may be more then a little ackward.

Yes! You're so right about having a brother and a sister. Brothers also are the ones to appreciate your interest in rock music while sisters appreciate the mellow ones. And true, it is awkward to tell secrets to brothers because their reactions are so unpredictable - they may react violently or do nothing at all. But sisters will surely keep it.

I think that having a sister is something that you just don't understand unless you have one. There are two different types of relationships that you can have with your sister; a positive relationship or a competitive relationship. If the two of you have completely different personalities then it might be easier for you to get on because you won't be competing for the same types of attention. However if you're very alike you might find that you compete for attention and resent each other for the attention that each of you gets.

Well, I have two sisters, I have both big and little sisters.
I can't say I don't have or have advantages, but I'm happy that I have them. When I need a help, I always count on them, and when they need a help, they will count on me. We support each other and try not to make problems with the others.
