Checking articles to earn more

I have lots of articles written on various topics. I think I could re-write them manually to gain more out of them. But I want to know how much content, if found duplicate, is allowed on the net? I had somewhere heard/read that if three continuous words are found to be the same, then it is stamped as some percent of duplicity. How can I check my articles for such duplicate content before uploading them? I know about copyscape. But for now I want to check articles for free. Please guide me.

This is a dangerous practice because each site has its own criteria for determining duplicate content and risking being banned for plagerism is not a risk I would take. Try simply writing a new article using the research done for previous articles instead of doing a rewrite on already existing articles.

This also depends on which sites you are using to publish your articles, some sites require that you are only allowed to post original content that can not be republished elsewhere while others allow you to post the content as many places as you would like. Also keep in mind that you do not want your material being easily plagerised either by posting the entire article on your web domain it is easily stolen and such activity can be hard to track because there is no way to know where this person may republish your information and publishings such as personal blogs and such are not scanned for copyright infringments. I perfer selling my material on sites such as constant content that holds back 2/3 of the article until the buyer has made payment for the right to use it, it protects my work from being used without my permission while still giving me access to people who are serious about buying content. If you have the available time to just write new articles I think this is always the best route to take. Good luck to you.

Yes I am aware of these things a bit. Have you any idea about RedGage. I want to publish my articles there. I have heard that they do allow duplicate (THE EXACT) content on their site. Can you please throw a little more light on this?

Hi abhi! In Triond they can easily stamped an article submitted to be duplicate especially if there were a lot of same words on it. I am just not sure about how much content will be allowed. But it is best to retell/rewrite in with your own words just to make sure the article won't be classified as duplicated.

Hello, "Same" is indeed a subjective term. And subjective terms are really difficult to define. How can one put a benchmark that so-and-so words mean the article should be considered as duplicate. That is why I am really skeptical how I should proceed. Sometimes I feel like keeping each article a separate one and not indulging in re-writing. But then there are those options of rewriting and earning more.

I think one of the alternative for Copyscape is the percent dupe - http://www.percentdupe.com/ which also works like copyscape, just add the link to the site that you use as reference.
