When I was about to graduate from high school, I took a National Scholarship exam given to those under privileged. I didn't know that they gave out pamphlet of the courses you might take and the examination is about to start. Everyone was filling up the application form/test paper inside the examination room. Luckily beside me was a classmate and though we were not close, I grabbed her paper (so rude of me) and copied her course. I wrote down and engineering course and eventually that's what I took. It just so funny how I ended up being an engineer when all I ever wanted when I was younger was to be an accountant. I think God has a purpose why he made me chose this path and it was a blessing in disguise that I need to take engineering since the courses offered by that scholarship does not include accountancy.

Congrats to that dear Your carelessness became beneficial and a fulfillment on you! I think whichever you choose of these two you will succeed. You wanna be an accountant too before so if you took that course, there's no doubt you will be thankful too.

You are so lucky. I am quite the opposite. I wanted to take Business Administration but I did not know my school had branches. I really did not know what to take then so I asked what were there newer courses that they are offering so took one of the courses that they mentioned. I hate my course and I am in my senior year. I just have to do my practicum and I am done. I had a late realization that I wanted to become a teacher. I will probably go to school again to be one.

I am 45 and do college online. And I have two majors, because I can't decide what I wanted to do. I finally decided to to do Web Development instead of Networking. I enjoy the design and creation of making Web pages, much more than trying to configure an IP address. You go ahead and do what you makes you happy. Your future will be much brighter.

Like you, I didn't have a clue what to pursue after high school. I also took a National Scholarship exam where I had to put in a preferred course. Computers was a new thing back then, so I put in Computer Science even though I didn't know the first thing about them.
I also had to put in a second choice, and I put in Mechanical Engineering not because I wanted to be an engineer, but because it sounded great hearing that course.
I was not accepted at CS, but was put up in ME. A few years later I graduated university with a BS in ME!

I was imagining I would become a doctor, but had to do a bachelors in technology which was to take me to positions in industry; I was influenced by parents to work in a 'secure' government job from which rarely makes it to a successful private sector job. I am right now an executive in a private company.
Destiny charts its own path for us. Sometimes it works out beneficial. In some cases it doesn't. It is destiny's dance!
Happy for you!
