On the lately news on local newspaper, many students were attacked by predators, 3 times on last month, and more on the previous months. A student was holding his smart phone at the campus, and suddenly someone snatch his phone, and run, the student attempted to chase, but the robbers got a knife, and he was afraid to go further. Another case also happen in the downtown campus. There was a girl who attend night classes, when she walk to the parking, attacked by 2 persons, and reported to police. Such crimes near the campus just horrified many parents and students. Should the school and the police work together to do something about to ensure the safety of our students?

The school and police should definitely be doing their best to keep the students safe, but one must always consider the limits of what is actually financially possible. I go to a school where there was once a school shooting (I was not attending at the time, luckily), and I have to admit that I have occasionally felt anxious when I watch strangers walk into the cafeteria or other parts of the school from outside, since I am used to going to a school where people wear uniforms and are therefore easily identifiable. However, I understand that the school is a very big place and so it would be difficult to pay for enough security guards to watch every entrance at all times. Also, it is hard for a school to protect places that are public (like parking lots) unless they fence off the whole area and post guards at the entrances, which is, again, not exactly financially easy for most schools.
That said, I hope that this school's problems are resolved soon, and that the students in your community can go to school and feel safe!
