Recently I have recieved one email that " This is a Hardware based PS2 key logger. If you goes to cyber cafe and find any Black pin in the CPU ( i have uplaoded Picture in myLot pic section), Please dont use the computer. The pin is a connection and which save all the data you have put on computer, it may risk your privacy on the net, any banking password or any other data. This Hardware key Logger is very powerful, it records all the actions." I want to know whether it is true or just internet Humor?

The problem with this one is that it is a device that is plugged into the computer. It's not software, so resetting the computer doesn't get rid of it. You'd have to unplug the device from the computer to get rid of the keylogging.

Lol. If recording someones information and invading there privacy is illegal then why would someone legit, whether its the guy who owns the Cafe or not, resort to scamming to attempt to make a profit. You can always report theses kinds of things. You have to keep in mind that the internet is run through the penta-gon and THEY WILL FIND YOU.

Hello moon19in,
It is true. These key loggers are available on several commercial sites and not very expensive. I don't want to put a link here, and you understand why. Basically it is a flash disk recording every hit coming from the keyboard. Because this hardware is out of the computer and transparent for the keyboard, it cannot be detected by any software. I don't use computers in cyber cafe, but I think it is good for security to verify there is not one of these "adapters" on the ps/2 port before using a computer.
