My mind is not sharp like it used to be. Sometimes I just don't think. I went to bank yesterday to take out money to put on the futon I have on lay away. I have two different bank accounts at different banks.
I didn't look I put in the card and expected to get out all the money. But the card said I could only take out 20.00 and the bank would charge me for the fee. I thought that odd because I believed I had the right card for the right bank and went through with the transaction.
I got home and started to call the bank to tell them that there must be a mistake because I had much more than 20.00 in the bank.
Then I got my card and realized it was the wrong bank card, The card I was trying to use was for the other account.
I took the right card then and went to the bank a second time and got out the money. I don't know why I didn't realize this from the very beginning.

You have a lot on your mind right now. I do things like that when I am stressed or ill, and I know you are both.

Just tonight after working a product demonstration I tried to use a personal PIN, for a prepaid debit card I own. I felt dumb.

Personally I think this is a common mistake, and often it is easy for many people to do something like this. I know I have tried to use my Macy's card instead of a Credit card or Debit Card somewhere, and it can be embarrasing. Sorry you had to make 2 trips, but glad you realized this before you called your Bank and then realized it and would have felt really Bad.

Don't worry about that dear these kind of things happen to me too. Even if I have 2 bankcards with me I am able to give the wrong one and I don't see it's the wrong one. I think it's normal these things happen if you have more as one account and mostly we do these things as a habit. So the mind is already busy with something else.
Don't worry as long as you are able to get your money and don't let it make your day spoiled.

It does stress me a bit because I am always stressed and that is what this is happening so much, and I know how sharp my mind used to be and of course with age and stress it is not that sharp anymore. Thanks for your support hon.

winterose I used to stress so much and it kept my blood sugar up so I talked to my nurse diabetes educator and this is fun but it works you pretend you have an anti stress invisible bubble around you then relax. stress will hit your anti stress bubble and go away,. we all have stresses but its up to us not to let them stress us and bug'us. most of the time we are stressing about little things.
get the book Dont Stress over Little things, and MOst ar Little
things.

That also happen to me sometimes, but not with bank accounts since I only have one. I tend to get things mixed up especially if I am thinking about something else, or if I have some problems in my mind. Sometimes it also happens just because it is not my lucky day, and tend to space off a lot.

My two banks are in two different countries. My Canadian bank card is blue, my American one is red, and unlike the Canadian one, it also doubles as a Visa card.
How is your vision?
Though I have crappy vision, I can never mix up the two cards, because they are so obviously different.
Hubby is losing his eyesight and often screws up like that, because he keeps acting like he still has all his eyesight. Even though I know my cards are different, I still look a second time to make sure I'm putting the right one in the machine.

my vision is just fine, if I had of looked at the card before I tried to get the money out I would have known right away I had the wrong card, but I goofed up because I didn't.

I goof up a lot. I have went to the market and forgot my wallet. That wasn't fun to realise until I got to the check out. I have left my grocery list at home. There has been other things, I just can't remember them off the top of my head. Try having a bank card that looks like your state ebt card, that takes time to explain. So don't feel bad it happens. Just sucks when it costs you the trouble of having to go back and really bad if the trip isn't short.

Ebt card is the states food stamp card. Since my debit card looks like it, sometimes clerks hit the ebt card button without asking. It's irritating at times, but I just shrub it off as not knowing. Glad to know that I'm not the only one that forgot my wallet. I thought I was the only one.

hi winterose I think we c an all relate as I h ave been there and done that my self. for example there are evidently two accounts from care ambulance, and all the time I thought there was just one so have been paying down and got down to just owing them 25 and they
'come up with I owe them 100. so now I have to get them to lay off
the hundred dollar one and let me pay the 25 then I can start pay the hundred dollar one off at twenty dollars a month. anyway there was no way I could send more than one payment to them as I was making payments because I did not have a hundred dollars just laying
around lose. so we all goof sometimes

I know it is easy to get things mixed up. I only have one card so I wouldn't get mixed up there. But I have gotten things mixed up before. I can't remember what they were but I know it has happened recently.

Don't worry its normal it even happened to me in my very early age. Sometimes i get really forgetful or clumsy and it depends on the day and how hectic and stressful it will be.I guess it has to with the distractions and what you are focusing at the moment. Its okay your brain is just working so hard that it sometimes forget some details. We are humans we make wonderful mistakes =)...
have a great day Winterose

I AM sure you made that goof up because your mind was actually
in other places and on other things..had it not been you would
have taken the time while at the bank to dig a little further
as to why you could not do what you were trying to do..and that
your account was only allowing you to get only $20.00..especially
when you knew you had more than that in your account. Its ok,
I doubt that you are losing it(your mind)..it was a goof that
if it happens again you will know just what to do....enjoy your
futon whe you get it....

nope it was because my brain doesn't work like it used to and I didn;t think to look at the card I was using. I couldn't ask the bank when I was there because the bank was closed this was an automatic teller.

that is very normal, it may be due to both fatigue and a very stressful period. Today it is normal. Believe me, I heard more and more then that. One friend left the house with the slippers and not the shoes. Well, she realized in a later, and she was not very far from home. It can happen,at fatigue it may occur visual changes, auditory, verbal, but it's normal.
