My 10 year old son has Sever's disease

My son was diagnosed with Sever's disease after complaining of pain in his heel especially when running (he does cross country for our local athletic club). You can check out what it is here: http://familydoctor.org/familydoctor/en/diseases-conditions/severs-disease.html I have never heard of sever's disease and the people that we have told what is wrong with him have not heard of it either, even the nurse at the hospital had to go and look it up as she did not know what it was. So I was wondered if anybody on here has heard of it? Have your children even suffered from it? If they have how did you treat it and did they grow out of it in the end?

I have never heard of this either, I am very interested to know what anyone has to say about this, a friend of mine does a lot of running and he has a few problems with his feet.

I hope your friend finds out what is wrong. Severs disease is more common in children 10-15 years.
