How do you tell if a guy is really into you???

Hi everyone,
I have this friend who has been texting this guy ALOT arranging to meet up and everything she has known the guy for a long time and says shes keen on him. But when they arrange to meet up for a drink he never shows. Would that be a tell tale line to call it quits and give up on him???
Advice please......

Yes! Tell you're friend to give it up! 
Know what? You would not have to do anything whenever a guy likes you. When he's into you, he would do every thing, big or small, just to get close to you. He would make the first move and all you have to do is to appreciate what he has done and tell him if you feel the same way towards him or not.
I know someone who would go on a 5-hour trip just to see and talk to this girl he really like for thirty minutes. Imagine the trouble he had gone. Guys are like this. They love doing things for their loved ones' sake.
Even if a guy is timid, you would still know that he's into you. He would help you do your assignments, buy you lunch or do whatever indirect way he can just to tell you he likes you.
Being stood up for many times, make your friend realize that he's not into her. There are still many fish in the sea so tell her don't waste her time on that guy.

Hi Lara: I am not sure. In my case I would not be that hard evaluating this guy. Maybe you are right but what if the guy is very insecure and he doesn't know how to act with this girl. Some people are just terrible when they have to make the first move you know.

Hi...honestly i can't tell if a guy is really on me...what I can say is that if a guy would not show on your agreed date then he is not interested of what your friend is trying to offer to him. Aside from that there are other guys who might be interested but because they sense that your friend is so keen with a particular guy..then they just retreat...Another thing, it is embarrassing to force oneself on someone who doesn't want you...A right man who will come along at a right time ...

Hi hobbit and welcome to Mylot: Honestly I am not sure about the intentions of this guy. I need some more information about his personality. I mean, maybe he is playing with your friend but there's also the possibility that he is just shy and he feels insecure so he decided not to go. Also try to evaluate his reaction and how he explains his absence.
