Attatched is a photo of my granddaughter Savanna. Today ()saturday)as her way to give back to the community she and other pageant participants rang bells for the Salvation Army Red Buckets for the Holiday season at the Mall Of America. She looked adorable for the first hour then she went on the nut sort of and would not stay at the bucket. So as she was ringing the bells she would actually chase down people that walked past saying, "Bucket, Money, Please?" She was so cute she actually made people come back to donate some money for the Salvation Army. She has helped in a food drive before with the pageant as well. She is learning to be a little community helper for sure. Do you do services like this to give back to the community at all?

That's the way to do it, start them off when they are young and they will continue..
She is gorgeous in that red dress and if I was going to the store and saw that precious face, I'd dig until I found something to give..

I think due to her size and cuteness, she got more poeple
donating than other kids or adults there ringing today.

Oh how cute! I would have loved to have seen that happen. I always try to give when I go into a store.. or if I don't have money going in.. I get a cash back from my card and give some then.

We always give a lot to the Salvation Army as for years when our children
were small we used them for gifts and food during the Holidays as we were
in bad shape finacially. It feels great to help out by giving back.
Here's another photo of Savanna doing a pageant pose/smile from there.

I bet it was a hoot to see her. Last night we went to Applebees because they were giving free dinners to veterans and hubby is a veteran. Brownie and Daisy scouts were there opening doors, getting menus for people who were waiting for seats and passing out memorabilia buttons. Hubby does Meals on Wheels, but I do not do much right now. I notice more and more the schools are having community service days. All the way up from kindergarten through college they do community service projects.

It was a blast to say the least.
It's always fun to do things with Savanna for the pageant.
A lot of restaraunts were doing the free meals to Vets for Veterans Day.
It's great seeing kids taught to bew more involved in community services.
It's even better seeing they actually enjoy it.

Oh she's very cute! It's nice that she is already aware of the importance of helping others at such a young age. When I have children in the future I also want them to participate in activities that help the community and other people.
I live in a country prone to typhoons so I do volunteer work to help flood victims sometimes. I also join medical missions (as a sort of runner or errand girl because I am not a medically-trained professional) and free summer camp for less privileged children where we teach them art, creative writing, and soccer.
Also, I am a World Vision child sponsor so I donate a certain a month every month to be able to send one child in an impoverished province to school.

Good deal.
For years my wife and I sponsored a child through Christian Childrens Fund.
We had a girl from Mexico that we wrote to weekly etc.
That felt so good being able to feed her and educate
her with the money we gave monthly.

THat is sure teaching them an important lesson. That they are part of a community and that community works together. I don't have enough time to do things like this but help out in other ways. In the past I crocheted mittens with matching scarves for the Salvation army...now I round up things for toys for tots.

Next comes the Toys For Tots volunteering.
Sunday, Dec 11 we will be at Kare 11 TV studios
loading the truck with toys and, more than likely
will be on the news at 5 or 6.

Good grief, she is so incredibly cute that I be that kettle was one of the fullest in the county!! I love it that you're teaching her generosity and self-sacrifice at such a young age, she will grow up into a terrific person.
I don't do bell ringing but I send a check every month to the Salvation Army. It's one of the worthiest charities I've found, with over 90% of the money going to those who need it last time I checked.

I used to go door to door selling poppies from the Royal British legion Poppy appeal. Over here in Britain, we have Remembrance Day, 11th day of the 11th month, and we have a 2 minute silence at 11 am.that day. The poppies are sold i support of casualties and victims of all conflicts not only the first world war and second world war. We were allowed to go door to door and sell the poppies before Remembrance Day every year. I used to do boot fairs and sell donated items for the british legion. I also used to do the same fund raising for age concern and the mentally handicapped. I have stood down now to allow younger people( though not so young as your lovely grand daughter!) to get involved. Fund raising is a great thing to do and you meet some very interesting people.

A nice way to teach children on helping other people. And your granddaughter could be so cute, the reason why people will be so happy to help (donate).

We don't do any community services at all. I had hoped with Girl Scouts we could do more but all they do is a small community garden at school that the produce grown will get donated to the food pantry. Sadly most places if you'd like to volunteer won't let you bring kids along, since I don't have a sitter so they are SOL for me helping out. As if I had a sitter I'd be working more.

That was a beautiful action what she did, I congratulate you and parents because it means you are teaching the value of being a good citizen and be grateful, with citizens like that our country have a brilliant future I hope more people do that with the kids.
