So everyone is running around to do their shopping and whatnot for christmas again. Ooohhh, its almost christmas. So what? To me that is basically just another day. I don't say don't enjoy it. But till the day we remember what it is really about, it won't have any meaning to me at all. One thing i am not interested is christmas and all that goes with it. I am sure someone will at least agree with me here. People just use christmas as an ecuse to waste money on things they and their loved ones don't really need. So, there, crucify me, but i stand with my statement(feelings) PS: To those who get the time to spend with your loved one,s, do enjoy it though.

Christmas for me is to spend time with orphans and give them a party which we have been doing for years now.Preparing for this great day starts days before the event. Last year I had 90 of them and each of them got gifts and high tea at a beach resort. It was a day to remember.

I am impressed suny. I prefer direct charity rather than giving to NGOs. I do not trust priests and nuns and so spend on kids directly. I enjoy spending time with these kids and see their happiness.

Hi sweetie. That is really awesome. Maybe everyone can start doing that then. At least the orphans appreciate it.

Hi allknowing - that is sweet. Direct charity has its problems too. The next year they are back at your door step. You may want to give to somebody else the following year. That happens in my case..I too have issues with charity being linked to religion or for that matter, any organization. We've read such bad things about orphanages in last couple of years that I'd hate to be a person who contributed to such organized crime.

So, you will be thinking of getting me something sweetie? Kidding. As long as you have fun and not spend to much. People don't care about the thought actually, they care more about the cost of the gifts. Waste of money if you ask me.

Nope, I'm planning on making my own gifts this year. I'm gonna cross-stitch some bookmarks. I'm not worried about whether they like my gifts or not, so long as I'm giving it from my heart, that's all that matters. People shouldn't be greedy on Christmas Day. How about I design your name for you as a gift?

Every Christmas since 2005 have been hollow. Why? My mom is gone. When she was alive , I had so much fun. From making my list and planning to shop to the marathron wrapping on 24th! See I would wrap Every gift in the house save my own. But the last Christmas of her life Was perfect! Not only did I get what I wanted but I got to buy everyone everything They wanted. And Yes I believe Christmas is for the treats you want , Not Need. It was perfect! But now , I don't have that much money . It doesn't take all night to wrap gifts. So why I would look forward to Christmas is gone.I know it sounds a little strange for me, A Jew talk about how lovely a Christmas Can be. but my family is Christian so I celebrate both. So I can totally understand not getting excited over it.So what I hope for you is that you have a good day.

I do enjoy Christmas and all that goes with it....why? Because of the celebration....and the joy that fills almost everyone's heart. That is why you give gifts...because He also recieved gifts....and gave us the biggest gift of all. It is the most celebrated birthday of anyone in history! Too bad you don't enjoy the season....the loving....the giving.....the joy!

I have no family/children -- I am old enough to be an orphan --, but I can't say that Christmas is just another day. My house is near a church, but I visit it 3 times a year only, and I never miss the midnight mass : it is an occasion to remember that if I am no more practicing, I am still a Christian. I am not rich, but I give a few money in December to associations helping homeless people : it is an occasion to remember that some persons are less favored than myself. It is against my principles to crucify, and you don't deserve a cross because you dislike Christmas. I like the illuminations in the town, but not at all the business around Christmas.

You go to church only 3 times a year sweetie? What the hell do you do the rest of the year as it is basically next door? I do believe, but i am not a christian. Don't ask, i tend to confuse people when i start to explain it. I ain't rich either, but i do try to give sometimes, if i remember that is.

I won't disagree with you... but I'm not fully agreeing with you either. Christmas for me isn't just some normal day as it is the only day my whole family could get together. In our case, we are very family oriented so distant relatives and so on are very welcome to celebrate with us during Christmas eve. And of course to commemorate the birth of our Lord and Savior. *Wink.

Over here, in Aussie land, we have midnight mass on Christmas Eve. I used to go and sing my heart out and when it was over I was filled with joy and very uplifted. The church is too far away now and I'm unable to drive at night but I can recommend it. Go sing sweety and take some family too if you can. Blessed be and Happy Christmas.

I respect your statement(feelings) towards Christmas. And I agree that the true meaning of this holiday couldn't be found in the buying of gifts, or the decorating of the house, or the breaking of the budget just to have a celebration. Sometimes people get lost and overdo these things. I admit that I do buy gifts, and put some house decorations, and have a little celebration with my family on Christmas eve/day. But I also make sure that I don't go overboard, and that I try emphasize the true meaning of the day to my kids.

This Christmas, I guess I'll be spending lesser than I spent during the past because I wasn't able to save as I used to before. But I don't think I wouldn't enjoy the season without much to spend. Christmas is all about giving and sharing while remembering the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ. It doesn't have to be really extravagant but the thought of being able to give is what matters. But regarding your feelings, it's alright not to spend on Christmas, as long as you remain to be a good person who give and share anytime of the year, it doesn't matter. You are the classical example of a person who make everyday a Christmas day.

Hi sweetie. Well, okay spend a little, thats fine. But do remember that i don't eat turkey or pork. Make me a nice meal and i'm happy.' What time should i be there? I agree though, giving and sharing seem to be the mylotters way, which i find refreshing as here where i live i see those who take all the fun out of this day. Anyway have a great time with your family, that is important.
