Having just completed a visit from my 51 year old son, I am so inspired. This man said to his Mom, the older I get the less I know. To understand how important this statement is you must first know that this person was one that said if I can't see it, it doesn't exist. Closed minded is what he was, now that mind is opening. What a blessing that is.

That is great to know that your son has come to the realization that there are a lot of things that he does not know. It is true that there will never be a human being that knows everything that there is to know, however, the vast majority of us don't accept the fact that there are a lot of things in the world tha we will never be able to have the opportunity to understand.
It is only when we reach this understanding that we are able to grow as human beings.

I'm glad to hear you were inspired by the visit. I think that sometimes it takes a while to realize things. We all have something we think we know when we are young and then one day...bam...wow..I wasn't so on the money about that after all.

It can be very relaxing too not to see and know everything. Not always have to think about how or what or when.
Holy are the simple ones of mind (might be a bad translation) is an expression over here. I think it's said in the bible as well.
