What Do You Pray for Those Who Pray WRONG?

You know, for people who are praying for something they don't need or are praying for relief from something they brought upon themselves and -that they continue to pour on themselves. How do you pray for their 'peace with their continuing condition of sin'?
I pray as Lord Jesus did upon the cross: "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do." For no one--not me, not you, not the Pope or any bishop or priest, not any Master-of-Theology or -Philosophy or -Divinity etc.--knows the entire scope of the imbalance between humans' sinful-actions and Heaven's peaceful atmosphere.
That prayer is not so-much 'for them to be forgiven' as it is 'for them to KNOW that they ALWAYS HAVE BEEN FORGIVEN (even though they continue to choose the unforgivable path)---forgiveness BY GRACE, Grace found by faith, future-Grace illuminated by the Hope my faith ignites on the Grace of the past
That is not MY prayer, but Our Lord's prayer for all of us. And if I apply it to MY prayer (basically, variations on 'that I may know- and fulfill my place in the Kingdom of God') to see how much those prayers echo Our Lord's prayer, I see the answered parts of my prayer (casting-away the other parts of my prayer and leaving me the Kingdom-parts to work with).
What are you praying-for in your life? And can you tell how Our Lord's Prayer (not THE Lord's Prayer ) fixes it?

Yup! My friend that maybe the reason why prayer sometimes not be heard because of such things. But we can't blame those people because you know we have different taste in life...the worse thing was those people doing a criminal acts that they pray to our God that they maybe succeed to rob a bank or do harm someone?

And I ask that people who pray that way realize they're actually asking for something that is already given (or that they had before and threw away), and not for anything new to be created.

Indeed. Maybe God TOLD those people to rob a bank, not my place to say; or (the specific prayer I'm thinking of) maybe God TOLD the girl to eat way-too-much sugar, and so got Type 2 Diabetes, and now is asking God to deliver her from that ... not my place to say ...

"Thy will be done." That's my prayer and one I keep coming back to. Jesus knew it was a daily need, or else He wouldn't have used it in the Lord's Prayer.
As to praying for others in their continuing condition of sin, I "AMEN" your comments, but want to add that none of us are righteous. All of us are in that condition of praying for relief for from something we've brought upon ourselves. If we were perfect we would have no need to pray except to praise God. Kinda sounds like heaven, doesn't it?

Maybe 'praise' is the only prayer we need, thanking God for 1) giving us the grace we've found to help us make it this far through life and -for 2) giving us the grace we haven't found yet to help us "finish the race strong."
The prayer would then be more of a 'meditation,' clearing the temporary worries away so that you can see which worries you're holding onto and -see why you're holding onto them.

And remember that--spiritually--you sit enthroned beside him at the peak of Heaven, looking down to see what this clay form you control should do without question ... knowing that it will never know the grand purpose until the spirit it needs from you to do the job returns to you at the throne.

Hi mythociate, Everyone has their own idea about prayer, depending on where we are in our spiritual evelution. Pleading with a God that we visualize as sort of a superman is not my idea of prayer. The kingdom of God is within us and that is where we will find the answers we seek. Blessings.

I think that everyone has their own growth path. As long as they continue in a psoitive direction, then things will turn out good. If not then maybe the prayer for them should be that they make correct decisions that would bring them closer to the Lord. Just remember that no prayer is said in vain. It is nust where that person is in their progression. Support them when you can and pray for guidance when necessary. It could be that this is as much your trial as it is their's
