Tuesday is a big day and I am nervous.

On Tuesday, I am having my hearing for Social Security Disability finally. I have been out of work for two years and I miss it, but I also need to be realistic. With my health problems, I could not put up with the stressors of work. I was having blackout spells and it was just too much for me to handle. I have a child and a family and my priority is to be with them. True, I will not have the dream life that I wanted but I don't have to stop living just because our income will be limited if I get it. It is nerve wracking to have to go to court and if our system worked the way it is supposed to, I would not be going to court for it. I would already be receiving some help. I worked from the time that I was sixteen. Two years ago, I began having heart problems. Because the diagnosis is something with which they are not familiar, I have been turned down three times and they said I can do telemarketing. I also have tachycardia and my heart rate speeds up really bad when I am under stress. As a previous telemarketer, I know that is not practical and definitely not a good idea for me to go back into that field. As it is, our family has struggled doing odd jobs and using our son's SSI checks to get by for two years. We resorted to using the welfare system to receive a check of $300 a month and that assistance is gone now. This would really help our family if we could get it. Some people reading this may wonder why my husband isn't working. He was set up by an ex many years ago and went to jail for something he didn't do. As a result, here in Ohio he is discriminated against. Felons in Ohio have a better chance of finding a job than someone who has an assault conviction against them. My husband isn't violent. He just got railroaded by the court system all those years ago. We have seen employers look at the applications and shred them because he checkmarked the box on having been convicted for a crime. In their eyes, he is violent and they won't even give him a chance.

I have said a prayer for you and I hope you and your family get the benefits you all need and deserve! I know how hard it is since my father has worked all of his life and is now disabled. It's such a challenge to get benefits sometimes. I hope everything goes well for you! *Fingers Crossed*

Yes I got a lawyer and my hearing is Tuesday. I have to get hold of him tomorrow and tell him I was admitted in the hospital over the weekend. Hopefully they will allow us to use that for part of our case since it is so close to the hearing date.
