Today is special day for children

So where is the Chocolate for this kid Arent they supposed to gift me some? I am the oldest kid here I believe

Hello dear chattering box, My elder son described me about today’s celebration in his school over phone. He got Chocobar (Ice cream) and samosa for eating, watched movie in school, got free books for reading. He told me there was no study in school today and enjoyed the whole day with other activities including racing. However, my younger son didn’t informed me anything exciting news over phone,(he is in another school) I hope he may forget when I called him, if so I can listen all stories in the evening.

Hi surekhaji, yeah, when i was in school we used to love this day because we used to have so many cultural program and no classes all with civil dress. It will be like festival in the school. Thanks for the post. (you made me to remember my school days)

usually this day is being considered as the birthday of pt. NEHRU ,the first prime minister of India , country never forget his duties ,he was an astute politician and great leader ,we are missing them ,now no one can take his position , because he loved children so his birthday is pronounced as the children's day, i am a big fan of Nehru ,even when ever i think how i can contribute my services to my nation ,i always getting him in front me , now a days India is badly affected with corruption and politics and political leaders have lost their ethics in political warfare , their competition is only for money and chair, they should learn something from pt. Nehru, he was a real thinker and he always thought about nation's development , i love him and his remarkable thoughts .

Yes Today is special day for children and my both daughter is very happy today because they played a big role in dance. Elder daughter conducted a seminar also.

Is a beautiful day, the children day, in my country, we celebrate it on sept, 9th, and this day, there are no classes on schools, yet, they go to school, because, a big party is celebrated in their honour, most of tv shows, including the news, are hosted by children this day, and there are parades, and festivities in almost every town. But, actually, I don´t know why we choose sept. 9th, but, in either day, is a fun day, I believe.

That is neat that there is a day in your culture that is dedicated completely to the children. The closest thing that I've ever experienced in my life was when I was 17 years old I had the opportunity to travel to Italy and France with some members of my church youth group to go to World Youth Day where I had the opportunity to see Pope John Paul II and celebrate a Catholic mass with over 1 million other believers.

yes every where Bal divas is celebrted but it is only formality. The real situtation of children are not good in this country. Education service and health service is not good. Drop out from schools are much high.

Oh, Children's day must be the happiest day for Indian Children then. They must have a school day off for today. When I was a child, I love to have one of those days, so I can hangout with my friends, or I would just stay home and watch television or doing nothing all day long.

Hello Dear I am just wondering about this, Feb 14 is valentine day. 2nd month of the year Nov 14 is childrens' day. 11th month of the year Is it just a coincidence or calculated :P

It is very thoughtful of you to have posted this topic today =-- childrens day. I remember the positive role played by Jawaharlal Nehru-- He showed love and affection towards the children of this country. All the schools will be celebrating Childrens Day and mostly children will be given sweets which they will relish.
