Any idea of Adf.ly?

Yesterday I came across a website called adf.ly. I had heard of it long ago but subsequently forgot to visit it. Yesterday while surfing the Internet purposelessly, I found it and out of great curiosity opened it. It is a URL shortening site with a provision of earning money online. Unfortunately I could not make out the mechanism of its action. I am eager to know how it generates earning for its members. Can anyone help me?

I joined Adf.ly and I put links in there to shorten. I did make some money, but not enough to make a cash out. It works fine on some sites but others do get crazy annoyed when you put those links in instead of the real link. Also, some sites do not allow these shortened links to be placed. It is okay for some things but not for everything.
