Dravid(119), Laxman(73*) takes India to 346/5 at the end of Day 1...... / myLot

At the 1st Day of 2nd test at Kolkata India are 346/5. India reached this score with some superb batting from the senior players. Dravid scored a very well played Century. Laxman, Gambhir(65) supported Dravid well with their Half centuries. Sachin and Sehwag scored 38 runs . The play ended when Ishant Sharma got out for a duck. Laxman is on the crease with unbeaten 73 runs. Still there is more batting left for India with Dhoni and Yuvi to come. Batting 2 more sessions tomorrow can give India a high total.... So I think India finished Day 1 on a good stage. Share your views.....

Indian players played very well as expected. Dravid, Dhoni,Laxman scored beautiful centuries. As India posted huge target, It helped bowlers to do free experiments and made them follow on. so its good going by Indian team.

Good first day for India though it could have been better had Rahul Dravid not got out. It was a freakish dismissal for a great batsman who played such a great innings the whole day. Good thing about today's play is that the whole of top order contributed in the total. West indies bowling looks ordinary on a good batting wicket. India is most likely to consolidate their position when the play resumes tomorrow with Yuvraj and Dhoni still to come. They look confident to retain the lead they got by winning the first test of the series.

ya with yuvi and dhoni yet to start, a high score is very much on the cards. laxman should carry on the innings and stick at one end as he always do. then India can make a huge total.

India just pulled out a Battathon in the first innings, piling over 600 runs. Apart from Dravid on the first day, Laxman and Dhoni have also helped themselves to centuries. This has setup a uphill task for the Windies to save the match. Currently they are not really faring well having already lost two wickets for 33 runs by end of day today!! Cheers! Ram

Thats a very good score in such a good batting site.But I am not happy about Sachin that he missed again to touch his land mark.Well,if India play two more sessions tomorrow,hope 500+ would be the score.Dhoni will use his spinners and WI is weak in spin.So,India will be in the driving seat in this test.

ya, if India continues for two more sessions then a high score is possible. Specially yuvi and dhoni should make at least a half century.

You are right that if india was able for the next two more sessions then India would definitely get a very high and unbeatable score and india can easily win this match. Regards, Arya.

hope that VVS will score the century tomorrow. and if India survives the morning session without losing much wickets. then definitely India can put Windies under pressure.
