I have been looking for some quality recording studio software. I am currently using MixPad Audio Mixer Pro which gets the job done on a very basic level and cost around $60. I am looking to upgrade to something that will have more tools for editing and effects, without costing too much. If anyone out there has any ideas or some recommendations I would really appreciate it.

If you want to upgrade then go n Nuendo, I am music artist and I use this program also all the studio owners use this program to record. I also like adobe auditions to record and then transfer my files to Nuendo for mixing.

I appreciate the suggestion, but $1,800 is a far step out of my price range.
