make-up can indeed improve one’s look

Yes, simplicity is beauty. But if one is so natural, she still has a chance to look gorgeous.
Take for example, my office mate. Without make-up, she is so plain looking. But when she was asked to participate in the program , to dance with a group, she was made-up. When she was dancing on the stage, I have to ask my officemate, who was she? I was surprised knowing that she’s our plain looking officemate. She looked so gorgeous and beautiful fully made up.
Another is Paolo Ballesteros of Eat Bulaga. When he is not made up to look as a girl, he looks a handsome guy. But when he is fully made up , to look like a woman, her face can really launch a thousand ship. And he can walk like Shamcey.

That makes it wonderful when you don't wear make up all the time. I myself don't wear make up because I'm too lazy to put on those. A simple powder and lipstick or lipgloss is enough for me when I go out and hang out with friends. But when it comes to huge special occasions where in I like to doll myself up, people would hardly recognize me because of the transformation. A lot would be in awe, shock and surprise because the good points are enhanced by make up. People would recognize you because of the difference compared to those who wear make up everyday.
I'm not saying that make up is like a magical wand that transforms you into a completely different person always. Sometimes, when used too much or not in the right way, you end up becoming a waking clown or worst, a fake doll. Make up just enhances your beauty if used in the right way and right time. Still, I've always believed in Natural Beauty and it's better to be complimented when you look beautiful even if you're just simple than be complimented because you are wearing a make up. ^_^

That's true. Make-up that is just done rightly, or not having too much of it, could really enhance one's look.
In the office, one should put on some make-up, to appear professional looking and have some edge. Besides, if you don't put on any make-up, you will feel like just a plain girl beside one of those who are in make-up.

I remembered this topic this morning as i ride a jeep to our office. I saw a sales lady going to the mall where she works. She was fully made up and looks good, except for the blush on that was so bright pink and made to look like a small pancake in her cheek. It destroys her face, and she looked like a clown.

Of course! Applying make up is a must in office for one to have a professional look. Likewise, one should also do retouches to maintain that confident look. But I have to stress that make up should not be overly done. It should be well complimented like if it's AM then light make up will do the trick n etc. I am not a make up guru but I've just noticed that there are others who overly do their make up like the foundation, their face becomes too white but their extremities are dark or the black eye liner had smudged or was too much that it already looks like a black eye - too white foundation + smudged/ too much black eyeliner = Panda. ^_^

Correct! It indeed makes a change in our face. Whether we like the change to be immensely noticeable or not, it really depend's on the owner's preference.
So, if you want to look like a clown, it's up to you.

There is a difference between having a make up to look good and making up just to impress others. Most of the times people do it for the latter while actually the impress that they make fades as fast as their make up fades in rain.
What you said is right. One doesnt have to spend hours and hours together to get a make up on when the job that they do usually doesn't require it. One can always have a touch up everyday to make themselves look good and boost teh self image but it should not be done to gain company or to impress somebody.

I actually never wear make-up. I feel like when you start wearing make-up, you have to keep it up. I don't want to put on make-up every single day for the rest of my life... And I'm also not very good at putting on make-up. My boyfriend says I don't need it, so I don't use it. :)

My friend, if your work requires you to face customers, you have to put on even a slight make-up. This gives you the classy & professional look that you need.
However, you can always opt not to have it. It's just that you will feel so plain , when you are in the midst of those made-up workmates of yours.
If you are still a student, then you can always opt to have just a plain and simple look.

A nice make-up enhances one's look. It makes you prettier. But too much make-up can ruin your look, so you should see to it that you are moderately made-up.

I agree with you. A common woman can look fabulous when she has a suitable makeup. The makeup can really change a person to a different person. I ever read the photos from the Hollywood stars who are without makeup. I have to say that you hardly recognize who they are. It is a big shock to see them without makeup. They just look as normal people.
I love China

Anyone without make-up can really be plain looking, specially when she's not that beautiful. But the moment she will be nicely done for her make-up, you can really tell the big difference from being plain to fabulously classical beauty.
At least, those ugly women still have a chance to look beautiful, if given the appropriate make-up.

as long as the make-up is not overly done it will enhance the wearer's look. We just have to put make-up in moderation and choose colors that are subdued.

I wear make-up on special occasions. On occasion I am required to look decent and with bit of colors as I'm really pale. Make up can help me enhance parts of my face that helps me look good. Like my eyes, nose and my cheekbones. :) It is an important kit for me whenever I'm attending important events.

That's nice my friend. I think every woman should have a small make-up kit for herself. So that when the occasion calls for it, she has one to use.
Usually, it could be just one , with a shade or two of earth color eyeshadows, a blusher and a light lipstick. In addition, it would be nice if she can have a smudge proof eyeliner , that could serve as a brow maker too.

i agree!
i have this simple and plain barkada.
actually in the circle of friends there is only one or two of them who likes wearing make up and the rest does not really pay attention with make up.
back to my simple barkada. i like her beauty it's because when she is not wearing any make up she is just some ordinary girl but when she is applied with those stuffs she suddenly becomes an elegant looking woman.

Yes, shane a make-up can make or break one's face. A nice make-up can really enhance your beauty, but too much of it can make you look like a witch!

Yes, I guess it totally depends on the beauty of the person, and also on how the make up was applied. I have known lots of women that are very gorgeous but looked old whenever they wear make up. For some, they will look very gorgeous and mature, for others, they will old and haggard.
@SIMPLYD (90721)

Actually, make -up adds maturity to a person. But once the make-up is gone, they look younger, though very plain.
But for me it's better to look beautiful and matured , rather than very plain looking.

Actually, the Arab girls are already blessed with nice eyebrows and eyes with lashful eyelash, so they just need some enhancement like a blush-on and foundation to even out their facial skin. Putting on more eyeshadows and mascara will really make them look fierce and matured.
Asians because they have chinky eyes, we have to put some mascara, so as to make their eyes look a bit bigger and brighter. Then, put on some eye shadows that could still add to the attractiveness of the eyes. Their faces are actually so nice to put on make-ups, because it really enhances their looks.

I totally agree with you. I see that you are from Asia. I have noticed that Asian people looks really good and gorgeous with make up. But here in my country, there are lots of Arabs who already look very mature even without make up. So when they they apply make up, they look a lot older, in a bad way. So it really depends on the person. Asians are young looking, so make up are good for them. They look gorgeous, like models.

I had a big crush on Paolo Ballesteros when I wasn in college, he was really new in showbiz that time too. And when he turned out to be what we don't expect him to be, I still have a big crush on him because he's really good looking. I admire him as well when he's putting on make up for fun in Eat Bulaga. He looks really handsome and can also look pretty when he's made-up!

Heavy make-up is a no-no in the office. It could shoo away clients because they make you look like a monster.
I only wear light make-up. It's to just enhance my face.

Unless you have flawless skin and perfect skin tone..makeup is always preferred. There is nothing wrong with making yourself look good.People don't want to look at less than perfect women. No matter what they say, most men will choose the perfect looking woman over a plain one. WHen was the last time you saw a celebrity with no makeup on the red carpet or get the starring role? THey often look nothing like themselves as we know them without makeup. If they didn't wear makeup, they wouldn't get the job! There is a time for plain and a time for makeup. Maybe your office mate doesn't want to be noticed while at work or thinks that she is there for her job, not to look pretty, but on stage..she has to show off what she's got!

Well, even if you don't have a flawless skin you could still put on a nice make-up actually. The secret is a foundation that really is a second skin of your face's color.
As to my office mate, she's tomboyish actually. But she said she's not a tomboy, just in the way of dressing only. She's always into shirts and tops. Though her shirts are those fitted ones.
But she's open to putting on make-ups , when the occasion calls for it only.

I agree with that SIMPLYD, I have seen how a good make up can work wonders with one's looks.A few years ago I happened to see a famous actress known for her gorgeous and glamorous looks at the airport, and believe me she looked so ordinary without the usual make up . I was shocked to see her looking so plain .I have seen several ladies looking completely transformed after going through a make up session - all the best and enjoy your day

Yes kiran, if one really knows how to apply a nice make-up it will do her wonders! From a plain looking woman , she will turn to be a gorgeous one.
And the secret is, not overdoing it.

Hi SIMPLY
There are certain occasions that demand some make-up put on and the Dance on the stage was just one of those. I must mention one thing here (though I am not a beautician) - the one who takes care of making you or anyone up must be aware of all those things that you could carry with and at the same time, it doesnt look like you have put it on.
If your friend put it on all by herself, She has a great idea of the cosmetics and make-up

I agree with you. Make up makes one feel good. For example I feel good with proper make up when I go taking classes. Same thing will apply to others also. Similarly

Actually, if one really knows how to put on make-up, a simple one can already do the trick.
The main focus of make-up is the eyes. If you don't have a mascara, you can use eyeliner that don't smudge, to highlight your eyes. Top it with an earth colored eyeshadow and it can already transform a person into something good to look at.
A light colored lipstick will complete the nice look.

Anything done in excess is not good whengcat. And that applies to make-up specially, too.
Me, a mascara , eyeliner and a brush of a little gray on the brow, already transforms my face. I like paying special attention to my eyes, because they are chinky eyed.

Indeed make up can boost one's beauty. It hides wrinkles, spots and other things that dominates our faces rather than just pure flawless beauty. But, if we like to look good in the normal public I don't think men can do that. Non showbiz men don't do make-up. But girls, otherwise... they can do anything they want just to make themselves beautiful. In some part beauty really plays in a person's intuition, but in the end your personality wins.

Yes, make-up can really enhance one's look. But it is , when you know how to put the right amount and shade.
