In the past I had a plastic lunch box but lately I bought a glass lunch box via the net. The glass lunch box is easy to clean. Besides, it seems it is safer than the plastic one. As I have to use micorwave oven to heat my lunch at noon everyday. A glass lunch box shall be better.

Glass could be dangerous if it breaks. I would use a plastic lunch box. You can still microwave it and all but it won't break or shatter. I would think that which ever one makes you happy is the one to use. I am retired so I don't really need a lunch box anymore. Used to just take mine in a plastic bag. Hehe

youless,
I just cannot say that I am enthusiastic about a glass lunch box especially when they are fragile and quite dangerous when we do not handle them with care or that there are quality control issues with the lunch box.
For a start, most of them are breakable when dropped or knocked hard. So, carrying it around is really a problem especially when it is being handled by children who are innocently clumsy.
Also, I think you are aware that there are cases of these things exploding when there's a sudden fluctuations of temperatures which makes these receptacles very volatile and dangerous. I've actually saw one exploding in the microwave where fortunately no one was hurt or killed, although I cannot say for the microwave oven's state.
I think for the plastic lunch box, I can understand your issue about making them squeaky clean which the best way to do it is with a sponge and dish washing liquid. I can assure you that it is as easy as using eraser on paper.

Yes, lunch boxes made of glass is easier to clean and wash unlike the plastic ones that leaves some residue.
I also changed my kids lunchboxes with the glass one.

I will also give you a suggestion. You can also use special microwave proof plastic boxes for lunch, so that you can heat you food easily in the noon. By the way, will the glass box break if it is fell down.

My lunch box has always been plastic, I am scared to have a glass one since I am quite a destroyer- very careless. And my plastic lunch bx has served me for a lot of years, like more than 7- it is really durable and I can find no other lunch box as good as it is now.

I am using a plastic lunch box. I had a glass lunch box before and it was really good. It is very easy to clean, the food does not get spoiled easily and the container does not smell. The only negative thing I can say about the glass lunch box is that, it is heavier than the plastic container. Mine was broken already, I don't why why but it got broke when I was reheating my food in the microwave. It says it is microwave safe, but I don't know. Those things happen.
