I'm not sure about that. I've always been using AVG because it's free. Other than that, i'm having windows defender and some other softwares to help protect my com. Norton would be the best among them all if u can afford to buy and pay for a new version on yearly basis. If not, u just have to be more careful about the sites u enter, places where u do your surfing. Security lies a lot in yourself and u are the first firewall when it comes to protecting your data.

I trust avast, I used it on my systems without any problems. I learned about it when I took a system to be fixed. My local police force uses avast on theirs. Plus the repair guy said it was the best virus protection out there. Even better it was free, can't beat that.

Oh my God, it's one of the best antivirus out there! It's light, updates daily and it cleans virus very well. Of course I trust it.
If you are worried, you can also install anti malware for extra protection.

Me i hate avast it because after avast detect or make some action to the virus like block or remove the virus after that software that affected of virus become disabled and cant run any more not like AVG it only remove virus after that the software that are affected of virus can still run and work fine unlike avast i hate avast.

Hi adhyz82,
I personally have Eset antivirus on my computer, but my boyfriend has Avast on his and it's really good. Lots of friends reccommended it to us and so far so good, nothing has attacked any of our computers. I'll change to Avast when my Eset version expires!

Well, I think they are both good anti virus software, but considering that ESET is not free as AVAST, I think I would choose Avast.

yes i always heard good things about this antivirus so i think you can be satisfied by avast too...in reality if we talk about the free and not-commercial versions i still prefer avg ones...but even avast is not bad!!

Well, I tried many anti-virus software and don't see that avast anti-virus is good to protect our computer or laptop. I don't recommend to anyone who ask my opinion what good anti-virus to install in their systems...
I always prepare avira which is my pc anti-virus many years. I used avg, kaspersky, avast, and many others but I am not contented on how those anti-virus protect my pc...
Try avira, friend. But remember to download the free personal edition 2012 and that is located in America. Do not download avira which is in europe. Because it will slow down your pc or laptop...

I used avast in four months and I find out the report while scanning the pc is a fake result because still there is a virus even if this AV report many so called virus but all of those are fake report...
Do not used two anti-virus at the same time because it will make your pc slowdown or infected with virus more...

I have used Avast and it is very good. The person who fixes my computer installed it, he is a school teacher and is up on all the good programs. He also teaches computers and tries out alot of different programs.
I too use trial programs alot of the times. They are very good.

I have found that it is very good. Right now I am using Avira free edition, it has found several trojans.

every anti virus have a advantages and disadvantages on it. avast is not strong antivirus, but it still good, cause it free and light for your computer. you can put SMADAV combine with AVAST, so your computer save from local malware too.

SMADAV just can scan local virus from indo hacker, but can't scan malware and other big virus. so in fact: SMADAV just can scan virus that create from notepad, but AVAST can't scan it. so, combine it.

Norton is the best, and my savvy brother has it by preference (I'm stuck with McAfee, which came with the computer - but one day I might drum up enough energy to change over), but it does cost money, £24 UK currency. Microsoft Essentials is reckoned to be pretty adequate.

Hi adhyz82
Yes, Avast Anti Virus is the best Anti virus software out there. The Kaspersky software is the best Anti Virus when it comes to paid Anti virus software. Avast Anti virus is the best when it comes to free Anti virus. Avast is the one I'm using for the last couple of weeks and I did not have any problems at all.

No, I never had any problems using the Avast Anti Virus. But keep in my mind that Anti Virus software only detects Viruses. So be sure to download the Malware bytes which detects Malwares, Adwares, and Trojans. I usually use the software once a week or once a month to be sure that my computer is safe. It is also free and is award winning.

I am using Avast too for quite a long time and so far I have not experience any attack by trojans, adware, spywares and malwares. Very nice software and highly recommended to those who are searching for a better computer protection.

Avast is good but I don't like avast too much.
Avast always detect my software with .exe as a virus and a lot of my software basis is using .exe .. Can u imagine everytime you use software such as photoshop or illustrator, you computer got warning you got a virus ? That's annoying and disturb my work.
I prefer using Avira. It's good and not protect too much than avast ..
but it gonna up to you which one you like to protect your laptop :)

I downloaded the trial version of Avast, and I decided to purchase the 1 year upgrade to cover my laptop, it was reasonably priced, it includes a Firewall and I heard that you shouldn't run two firewalls at the same time, for conflict, so I turned my windows firewall off, so hopefully Avast's firewall is better.

Personally, I only use mcafee anti-virus and firewall, I used to use free ones, but got hacked by viruses on more than one occasion and had my harddrive so badly damaged that I had to have a new one. With mcafee, my machine has always been well protected though, so to me, it is well worth paying for. _Derek

The only Anti-Virus program that I use and trust is Avast. I like the fact that it is free. You can always purchase there other programs which is more secure though but the free stuff is just fine with me. So yes I do trust Avast and I think it is very good.

I am using an offer of one year free trial of avast antivirus right now and for me it seems just alright. I plan to renew it after this trial and get the upgraded version.

I am using Avast antivirus, I should have no reason not to trust it Otherwise, I'll change it with a more sophisticated antivirus, but the problem is some antivirus were quite expensive this time

Hi friend, now i am using avast and have a good security with it. Previously i too used kaspersky and the trail version and the validity ended soon. After the validity period i installed the free version of avast and getting a good protection from it. Don't worry, surely you will be safe with avast
