I have had horses most of my life except for the last two years. So when we moved out here and there was a horse across the street I made friends with him. Now he has decided that if and when he gets out he will come visit. This is scary as he needs to cross the road to come stand at my deck, look in the door and wait for me to bring him home. His owner is very responsible and has a very good fence system, we think he is picking the gate closure, she has done some re-work on it so we will see.....

Horses can hear better than humans so I think crossing the road would be peanuts. Don't think its scary when the horse can manage to cross on his own. They have binaural hearing and each ear has 10 muscles unlike humans only 3 muscles.

It's been three months since you wrote this so I hope the problem has been solved! Your DOT should be able to put up signs saying "horse area" to help make drivers aware. They'd rather put up signs than deal with a catastrophe.
