Drinking Water in the morning

I have seen in many magazines, health centers etc., that drinking water in the morning before having breakfast is too good for health.
Whether anyone know how it actually becomes good for health..?
Whether anyone of you experienced it practically..?

I haven't read anything specific about this but it makes sense. Our bodies are mostly composed of water. We probably wake up a little dehydrated from not having anything to drink for about 8 hours..and water is the perfect drink for us.
I started drinking a bottle of water..maybe 10 oz. first thing in the morning and I don't know if it's my imagination but I think I do feel better as a result..and it can't hurt...

Hello, thanks for sharing your opinion.
I don't this that its just your imagination, and of course it will make some effect at least. Imaginary thinking that you'll be having good health would actually make you healthy..

Hello,I think drinking water after we wake up helps to get rid of toxins inside our body..this is also the time when there is nothing inside the stomach...so i think it will help in digestion.. Happy Mylotting!!!

in winters the thirst is more.Early mornign would just like to have a glass of water as the throat becomes dry.There is cold and cough every where and the loss of water is more as from our body.So its more good to have water early in th emorning and when ever we feel like.

Every season we need water.and should drink sufficient water to cleanse our body.Its a good habit.Drink as much as water as per the requirement of the body.Then all the bad things will be flushed off from the body by water.

I have read that in the news too- and I have been doing it for many years.. I don't really know if it is effective or not- but I still do it. You should definitely try it too and see if it makes any difference to you..

Yes, in fact by doing so it helps us to maintain our weight. Drinking more water aids us in limiting our food intake too because it lessens our craving to eat more. Thanks for the BR my friend.

my uncle use to drink 3 glasses of water during wake up in the morning, and there is nothing wrong i think because i notice him be in a healthy body status.
and when i ask him he said, it doesn't matter as long as the time interval after you drink 3 glasses of water to wait for another 2 hours before breakfast.
i think he is pertaining to gastric juices that are found in the small intestine, maybe that is the reason why an interval of 2 to 3 hours before breakfast after water therapy.

I read in some column before that our body perspire more when we sleep rather than when we're awake.That is why we loose more weight sleeping than when we are awake. That is why we need to drink water when we wake up to make up for the loss.I don't actually believe it but they say its true. :-D

I also told by many that drinking water all time hepls to maintain our health very much. Now I come to know the point that it helps get rid of built up toxins.
Nowadays I'm making it a habbit to drink more water..
May I ask how much water do you have per day..? an avg.

yeah..drink water can to take toxins out of you body..and by drinking water everyday in all time is good too. Drink water in the morning can to make help keep your heart healthy(i ever also read this info before about it). In japan, most of people drink water in the morning. Maybe between Hot or cool drink, i forget...:)

lemon jucie is also as better as having water in the morning; Then I think I'll have juice than water in the early morning. Actually I like lemon juice very much, thats why.. haha..!

I do drink lots of water each day and that alone makes me feel healthy. Water is an energy booster and a natural colon cleanser so I don't fail to drink at least 8 to 12 glasses each day. I do drink water before breakfast but have no healthy issues so I can't really tell if this helps in healing any form of disease. It is just that it has long been my habit to drink water immediately as I wake up each morning because my body seems to crave for water first time each morning.

Yes, by God's grace I am. Health is wealth so I keep my health as much as I could. I live and eat healthy and do just about all self discipline to keep my health at its excellent state.

i'm not entirely sure about just plain water.. but APPARENTLY, warm water with a slice of lemon in it, is a fantastic thing to drink in the morning. apparently it kickstarts your metabolism, making it easier to disgest your food, including your breakfast, and it also allows your body to take all it needs from the food you eat during the day, without putting on weight. people on a diet benefit from it greatly.

I have heard this too but you also have to be careful of the lemon juice as it can be harmful for you teeth..lol isn't there always something???
I have also heard grapefruit kicks starts the metabloism..that's the basis of the grapefruit diet I guess..but I don't like grapefruit and never tried that diet.

I am a chain smoker so i lit a stick when i open my eyes. Since long I have started drinking water prior to smoke which has not shown any change in my health. Therefore I personally do not see any advantage in drinking water early in the morning.

I too think like that.., But still have doubt! What is the connection between smoking and drinking water..!?
Smoking effects lunges, and are you telling because drinking water helps in all ways ? avoids any problem to some extent at least ?

My boyfriend used to tell me to drink water in the morning, but I just can't do it and use to tell him that I already drink when he calls me to remind me about it, though the truth is I did not. What I usually do is to drink coffee, it has water too
Drinking water, regardless if it was taken in the morning or evening or afternoon, it is definitely good for our health.

Drinking Coffee in the early morning, I don't know its a good habit or not..
Anyway it also contains water as you told. Still its much better to have water alone I think.
If you don't mind, May I ask you why can't you do that..?

I've heard about this and I sometimes drink water when I wake up. I think it hydrates the body, after sleeping for many hours we might get dehydrated. Drinking water in the morning is also recommended from many nutritionists. I haven't noticed any difference when I do it but I generally drink a lot of water during the day.

I also drink lot of water in the day time.., but I don't like to have water in the early morning. But nowadays I have made it a habit..!
I didn't know that point; that our body gets dehydrated after having a long sleep.

Still you didn't notice any changes after you started having some water in the early morning..

It's a really good habit to drink water in the morning to rehydrate yourself since you have fasted throughout the night. It also helps smoothen' your skin and makes it healthier..

Yes it is very much helpful in old age but actually it's very helpful to all of us since it also washes away the toxins in our body. Some models actually drink more than 10 glasses of water a day just to keep their skin smooth, healthy and younger looking.

Same here, I also have read some articles like what you have mentioned and somehow follow it and drink water every morning. But I don't exactly know what it brings. But what I have understood, it cleanses our system. :-)

I've seen many advise taking a few glasses of water early in the morning to remove toxins from the body.Many people have advised to store the water overnight in a copper vessel and drink it early in the morning.It is said to be good for health.My homeo doctor used to advise this method of drinking water early in the morning.

Hi shskumbla: I think water is really good for you at no matter what time of the day, but I must admit that when I drik water in the morning I feel more active. I drink water during my whole day and this helps me to feel lighter and more ready to do my job.

I think that drinking water before breakfast helps for cleaning the inside of the stomach and intestines. This way food is assimilated better. I forgot to drink water in the morning before breakfast! Thank you for reminding me. Anyway I use to drink much water during the day especially in hot summer. Water and other good liquids are healthy.

I do it everyday before going to work, and I feel incredibly well. I feel how I wake up and how my organism relieves. I don't have a breakfast until 2 hours after, meanwhile I feel so clean and full of life.

Ya.., I drink 3 bottles of water(half liter) in the day. I read in a book and started such that habit.
