It was a fantastic performance from my favorite national team, having played very well the most of the time and have scored three wonderful goals, all of them after wonderful passing play, especially the third one.
The goals were scored by Muller, Klose and Ozil and the signs are good for Germany in their dream to win the title next summer.
What are your views on this game and on the possibility of Germany winning the European trophy?

Germany has always been the top team to win any competitions they are playing in, but more than often, they flatter at the final hurdle. IT would be good to see them playing well throughout but it won't be easy when injuries happen in the actual Euro2012. Of all teams involved, Germany is certainly the top choice to win it, since Spain hasn't been playing well lately. While Holland is playing hot and cold, inconsistency might blow away their chance yet again. As for other teams, they don't seem capable of toppling Germany, no matter how strong their attack can be, and how defensive they are.

It is just like you said it, Germany played well in the last 10 years or so, after having a downfall for a few years, since they have won Euro 96. But in the last 10 years they have missed the last touch, which is needed in order to win a great competition.
I hope that this summer they will have this concentration and if the key players like Schweinsteiger, Lahm, Neuer, Badstuber, Muller and Gomez will not suffer injuries, it will suffice to lift the trophy. But we never can rule out Spain, Holland, Italy and France.

I think that Italy is a team which can always produce a surprise as they did many times in the history so far. Their ability to concentrate at final tournaments is maybe the best in the world.

You have a favorite national team ?
I don`t hear that too often, if i like for example Brazil can i say we kicked Argentina`s butt every time they win ?
I feel so great because i stopped watching football a long time ago.I am still playing FM on my PC though

Yes, I am a huge fan of the German national team since I was a child and I think I will be one till the day I will finally close my eyes. And yes, if you identify yourself with a team, you can say "we" instead of the team's name.
What was the reason that made you stop watching football? The scandals which are on daily basis in the Romanian football? Or any other reasons?
And thanks for your wishes, I really hope the same too.

Yes rappeter i liked the football when Romania had a nice team but after that i stopped watching football, i also stopped watching international football,i don`t have a favorite team anymore,i know nothing about football in the last 5 years (don`t even know how Messi looks like ) and i am fine with that.
I never liked Germany or Italy but if you like them then i have nothing against them winning the title

Even though Robin Van Persie and Rafael Van Der Vaart did not play for Holland, I think it was a very good win for Germany. I was actually surprised by their 3-3 draw against Ukraine. But this performance again has re-iterated why they are such a good side and one of the favorites for the Euros. In the Euro seedings for the draw, they are in Pot 2 along with England.
Germany as far as I am concerned is definitely one of the strong favorites for the Euro title.
Cheers!

And Robben was also absent, so it makes it 3 essential players absent, but Germany had Lahm, Schweinsteiger and Gomez who weren't playing, so I guess it is even from that point of view.
The result from Kiev can be explained with the fact that Germany has experimented a bit, playing with 3 defenders, which is not a custom there. And Ukraine played that game as if it was a final, Germany treated it like a test.
I have now checked the pots and theoretically there can be a group like this: Spain, Germany, Portugal and France, which would be a real hammer. I guess the quality of a European Championship is higher than a World Cup's as almost every team which is qualified is a good one. Starting from Euro 2016 it will be a different story as there will be 24 teams, so the quality will suffer a bit, but this one will be great. Less spectacle usually, but higher fight, and this is what I like.

Yes, that would be a great group also, but that wouldn't rule out a group with Spain and Germany.
Anyway, I would love to see Germany revenge those games against Spain, but it would be the best in the final. I think Germany now has the potential to win against Spain, and they did have chances in 2008 also and in 2010 as well. In the Euro 2008 final the referee should have sent off David Silva for headbutting Podolski in the 60th minute or so and in the final minute he saw an non-existent foul made at Puyol when Gomez(if I remember correctly) has put the ball in the back of the net.
This time I hope for correct refereeing, as it is a shame for a referee to mark such games and not only the players.

It is certainly a good team and the most of the credits go to Joachim Low and his coaching staff, as they did a very very good job. But this job needs to be rewarded and the trophy would be this reward. I have high hopes for the summer...

Yes, trophies are the most important thing in football, without them people will forget the teams.
You see, if Greece haven't had won that Euro 2004, nobody would remembered them, but now they will always be in the history, even if they played ugly football.

Germany will head into the tournament as one of the favorite. I am pretty surprised by their performance at the last world cup. They are a joy to watch nowadays, unlike the previous boring and mechanical Germany. In Mueller, Ozil and Goetze, they have some of the brightest prospect in soccer.

Yes, the new wave of players is very talented indeed, and some of them have the traditional German spirit in them also.
As for the way they play, I don't care so much, I want to see trophies, because not always the spectacular team is winning. The "boring and mechanical" Germany has won trophies, I do hope that this "spectacular" one will do so, as there are almost 16 years since they haven't won anything.

Germany is very strong as expected. But I think we were exposed. Without creative players like Afellay, van der Vaart, van Persie and Robben we have a poor attack. Babel and Kuyt just don’t do it for me. Also van Persie is the better striker for matches like these, not Huntelaar. Anyways congrats Germany. I don’t mind, this is a good lesson.

It was only a friendly game, but you cannot call it like this when it is about these two countries, as we know the rivalry is huge between them. I agree, the absence of the players like Robben and van Persie was obvious, but Germany have had absences also, the captain and the mastermind were out(Lahm and Schweinsteiger). Van der Vaart and van Persie have played against Switzerland at home and Holland hasn't scored neither, and I lost an important amount of money because of that.
Anyways, I am sure that Holland will play better in the Euros, but I hope that Germany will be the best there and win the trophy.

rappeter13,
To be honest I was very surprise with the big scoreline and especially for one of the top European team - Holland to be on the receiving end.
It was clear that the Holland team was in sixes and sevens in every vital department starting with their midfield and defense. The players look jaded and most of all, tired - I wonder what they were doing the night before which was obviously not rest. I am sure you will agree with me that Sjneider was really having a bad day at the office with the Germans fluent play and his side's lack of urgency in the game.
Sum it up, it was not a Holland I used to know and familiar with.

Yes, Holland played poorly, but Germany is playing a quality football. I do hope that in the summer they will be the winners of the Euro Championship, as I am waiting since I watch football for Germany to win something.
And I think that Holland will play better also, especially if van der Vaart, van Persie and Robben will be fit.

Germany is not my country, I am not a German, but I am a huge fan of the German national team and I really hope they will win this competition. They have done well in the last decade so it is about time for their hard work to be rewarded.
