Another day, another story!

So, Sears tried again today. Well, I got up early and changed the cat boxes (don't tell them!) and a manager came and said he didn't see what was so wrong. He also said he was going to have WORDS with the other team about their running off without telling us. AND... it rained - HARD - before they came so they had to trek around in the mud to get the fridge in the back door. They ended up having to take the door off its hinges to get it in and didn't take the old fridge, but... we have a new fridge! Mind you, if they had FAILED to come today, we would've cancelled the order and, since we are currently PAID OFF, never dealt with them again - and told everyone to not do so. The floor was muddy, but when I got home from work and dentist, I got out my trusty Swiffer and pads and cleaned it up so the OTHER roommate won't think we left it for her! Even though we currently have 3 fridges and a freezer in the kitchen, (one fridge unplugged...) actually 4 if you count my little "dorm sized" fridge, at least we have them all working - not like before where we had one we never knew if it was going to freeze or thaw. So, the resolution is that Sears DID deliver, but we may consider really hard if we ever get anything from them again! you ever had this kind of problem with a company - don't even get me started on the maid service we had for a while!

Well it sounds like you had a lot of trouble trying to get them to get anything done. I didn't read a previous discussion, if you had one, about this so I don't know all that was going on about it. Glad that you finally did get them out there, but they are supposed to wear those shoe booties and remove them OUTSIDE the house before bringing anything in or out. You shouldn't have had a mess to clean up afterwards anyway. It took a cable company FOREVER to come out, months actually.

I doubt they know what those things are, I'm just glad they delivered it - now we are waiting on a guy to haul the old one away!

Well I am also glad that they did finally deliver it, even if it did take awhile. The Sears down here uses them, or maybe that was lowes I forget.. Either way EVERYONE should.

You had maid service?!? Can I interest you in a bed that makes itself? http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=da8_1307588878

it was when I was working full time, and the former roommate didn't think we did a good enough job cleaning house... well, that maybe, but remember, the roomie doesn't see real good, we didn't have the other roommate then and I was working full time and barely getting by taking naps during lunch... no, cleaning wasn't high on my priority list - but we had fewer cats then too - closer to 15... the maids managed to break the hot water handle off and it cost the service $100 for a plumber to fix and they didn't come back after that...

I have to say, watching the video, that would be about the only way my bed would get made... not high on my "to do" list...

We have not done business with Sears in several years. When possible, we buy on base because they match the price, and there is no tax. However, they have started charging a $50.00 delivery charge and will not pick up the old appliance. Because of that, we've bought our last two appliances at Lowes - good service, free delivery, and they take away the old appliance.

since I'm not in any way military (tho I did inherit a USAA investment account) I don't have access to any base, even the roomie's folks (her dad is retired air force) have to drive to Killeen to shop at the base (he won't drive through Austin much less into San Antonio!) I think next time it will be Lowes...

I am glad to hear that they came and got it finished today. I am also glad that the manager was going to have "words with the team." I don't blame you about thinking about taking your business elsewhere. I would too if I were treated like that. They charge a delivery fee here. I think it's something like $55.

Probably because it isn't that far to deliver, and they are in competition with Lowes right across the street (highway)

Wow that's a lot of fridges! I don't shop at Sears anymore because it is two floors and everything I want is on the other floor. I needed a new fridge a few years ago and I went to Lowe's because they have an electric cart and I could ride around. They also took the old one away and that was very important to me. Of course it was at the worst time, right before Christmas. I didn't have any problems, I bought it one day and they delivered it the next.
