I started having this feeling like I
have electricity running up and down my
arms and legs. Then I started getting
twitches under my lower lip and facial
pain. So, I went to see a Neurologist.
I had blood work done and an EEG so far.
I show to be deficient on B-12. So, now
I have to take shots for that. He hopes
this will solve some of the problem. Also,
I had to start taking Tegratol for the pain.
This is the strangest feeling. I am just
wondering if anyone else has this?

I never heard of it but sounds dreadful! I have carpal tunnel in my left arm and I would say is not really painful but the pins and needles running down my arm is very annoying and it makes my hand weak! I hope you can get a good treatment soon.

I thought I did even though I lost 27 pounds and blood sugar is now completely under control. It turned out a medication that I was on for panic disorder was causing me to have odd sensations in my arms. Once my body adjusted to the medicine the problem went away. I am completely off of it now which is a good thing. I don't like being on a lot of medications because they all have their potential side affects.

thats a shame.
its good to hear your doctor is giving you B12, as i have been reading about how vitimin deficiencies can create some of these problems.
i am sure you don't need anyone to tell you, but if you can improve your diet that might help, also someone else on mylot, i can't remember who i'm sorry to say, said that she started to develop these problems and started exercising by walking, and that helped.
i have had type 1 diabetes for 35 years and i have no problems yet, and i can't claim its anything to do with wonderful blood sugar control, but i have always eaten a healthy diet, with lots of fruit and vegetables, and i've always walked a lot, and i am convinced that has helped.
but i don't want to sound like i'm lecturing, good luck with this problem.
