I wish I could say they are losers but they are not. They make a great income telling the same story to 10 or 30 different people. They just collect. It's a very easy way to make a great income by internet if you know who to approach (the lonesome, lost, single woman looking for love or the single mother).

That scammer makes me laugh. The story is so suspicious and unbelievable! Did he really expect someone would hand over that amount of money to him? Why would a rich man like him be so desperate for money like that in the first place? it's definitely a scam and good thing you did not buy his story. -phew-

People who are desperately in need of money will do everything to get money from innocents. We must be alert and wise when it comes to such proposals because they are looking for a person who will fall from their trap. I also received such email but I never bothered to answer or entertain emails from scammers who are obviously asking for money.

This is not the first time I see such scheme. I often encounter messages, especially with my Yahoo Mail, messages that came from Nigeria and other African countries asking for help. You know that, that place called Bukina Faso, it's so familiar with me. The place often used by scammers online.

It's the normal Nigerian scam. No doubt his father was a ex government minister. Of course they don't know that the UK doesn't use US dollars, but then neither does Nigeria.
Just put it in the round file with your 287 million dollar email lottery winnings!!!

well, you did the right thing..you shouldn't fall into this kind of scam and trap of scammers....anything involving large sums of money is a pure scam..you should stay away from him and be careful about dealing with people especially from the internet..it is hard to trust people nowadays..

Of course it's a scam, you're so clever that you didn't believe it . You know many people forget to be rational when they see lots of money offered to them on their computer screen. I mean, really, how can you fall in love with someone you haven't met or known.
That's just silly..

Yes that is a scammer.
I had several too, they are easy to recognize. The smart ones will try to fool you, always tell you, you are the only one, even invest a lot of quality time in you (email/phone etc).
One of the stories: living in England, going to Denmark, ending up in Nigeria without money to pay the hotel bill. Businessman, what already was bought and payed for shipped to England. It's Christmas, I want to go home, the hotel manager won't give me back my ID till I payed etc.
An other one: England, love you so much.. will visit you.. Danmark, France on my way home I visit you.. ending up in X... doctor - hospital - taxi accident - have to pay the bill - etc etc. How to end it? To say you will buy a ticket and fly over.
Other one: bankmanager or director, inherence, please help me, part of the money is for you, give me your personal info blah blah.
The great thing about these scammers.
If you meet them on a (dating) site you can find the pics they use back on the internet. Mostly stolen from other people or models.
If you get letters/emails they frequently use an email address that sounds similiar to a famous one.
Don't send money, don't pay anything, don't feel pity! If you refuse you will find out that the less basterds won't bother you again, the other part will try to threaten you, if you threaten them back (ambassady, police etc and say you come over to check yourself) they get afraid!
