I am a professor of theology and philosophy. Every time I teach, I teach with passion but with hopeful of something in return....wages! So tired to inculcating education to youngsters and making it a living... i try putting up a company. I want to return to teaching with passion so full and not making it a living. Do you believe that teaching is a ministry rather than a profession?

Hello ruegin! Welcome to mylot! In my opinion if you are really passionate about teaching, you wouldn't mind the small salary. There are teachers who are getting by with just donations. There are teachers who teaches for free. It is all about passion. Love for knowledge, sharing and love for the children are also part of the teaching passion. So my answer to your questions is more likely teaching is a ministry. Good morning! =)

Hello teacher ruegin! I see what you are saying now. You would still want to continue teaching and in order for you to do so, you need to look for other means to support your family. Well, that is very noble of you ^_^ I hope we get more people like you. Nowadays, it is hard to find someone who is really dedicated into his profession. Today's world is all about the money money money. You know, just like the song ;) Good luck to you and may you prosper in your chosen business :)

hi there girl_thinking. Teaching is like doing a formation work for young people. You mold their knowledge, their character, their whole being. And doing this is a great, humble, noble job. The sad fact about teaching is that it is one of the most low-paying jobs. I have a family to feed, but salary I got from teaching does not suffice our daily needs. Starting a business does not mean alienating from this ministry of teaching but to be able to survive so that I can still continue doing the work of a teacher.

Dear Ruegin, I believe that teaching is one of the special professions and you could call it ministry. The good teacher is priceless because you can have a lot of knowledge and not to know how to share it with your pupils, how to make them good too. But I think also that the teacher should live with dignity and the poor wages dont allow this. In your case I can only say: good luck in your business.

thank you fannitia, I just wanna find the balance between service to others and service to my own family. For now, I really enjoy teaching without worrying about what I can give to my family.

You are like me I am a teacher by ministery too, I love to see the results of my kids, it makes me feel proud of my work, see how they get to school and how they leave. Teaching is a career full of humanities feeling so we have to feel for the others to work on this career. The bad part is that is not as well pay it. Means "teacher", one who instructs or teaches. Translated in new testament as: "master": in the gospels applying to Jesus. In James 3:1. "teacher" everywhere else in the new testament

hi rosa26. I'm glad to know i have somebody here who share my sentiment as professor or teacher. This ministry teaches us to mold young people for the glory of God but sometimes, our daily needs must be attended too. If i start a business it's because i want to survive the demands of the world and can continue working for the demand of God.

hi there fantabulus. Yes, teaching is a great, noble job. No question about that. But here in the philippines, teaching profession is one of the most low-paying job. Sometimes, we can hardly send our kids to school because we, professors, can't afford it. It's sad, but it's a fact.
