I just bought me a cheap juicer and starting juicing once a day. My legs and ankles have been hurting and swelling up. The first day after juicing, I woke up in the morning with the pain and swelling was gone. I am convinced. I have let myself become way over weight and it is starting to effect my health. I have been juicing with a lot of fruit, at least once a day for 2 weeks now and I feel the best I ever have for years. I actually want to go walk and exercise because my legs do not hurt anymore, and it feels so good to be out and exercising. Before, I hated to walk because it hurt. Now I am thinking of switching over to more vegetables and do less fruit. I think I have flushed the toxins out of my system, and now I need to concentrate on weightloss. I will be juicing more vegetable and using the leftover pulp to put into a soup, and then add cabbage and some other greens to it. I think this should help me lose weight.

I have been thinking of getting one. I have a book on how to get rid of diabetes and pre diabetes and it recommends a juicer, but they assume that we all are rich. I have checked the labels on those v8 juices, and others, and find they have way too much sugar and even the low sodium ones have too much salt. So soon as I get the money, will buy one. By the way, what brand did you get?-

I got a $30 Walmart Black and Decker one. I just have to cut my fruit into smaller slices, but I am happy with it for now.

I like Black and Decker, they are a good brand. I will have to look and see if I can get one. I was thinking of the Sharper Image as they come around this time or year or go to Sears or Canadian Tire. I want to get a wide mouth one.

hI Fatcat, Good for you for wanting to get healthier! I've never done the juicing but I'd like to try. I eat a lot of oranges and grapefruit, sometimes grapes, apples, bananas. I drink v-8 juice. Now if I could make a veggie juice that tasted like that then I'd be hooked. If you are careful about what you eat then I have no doubt that you will lose weight and get healthier as well. Just cutting junk food and drinks from a diet will almost guarantee weight loss. Good luck!

Juicing is good for your health because you get all the nutrients that helps you keep healthy. I know that for years people have found the benefits of juicing far outweigh not doing it at all. Its good to lose the weight by healthy ways and then add protein to keep your energy level up. I wish you the best in your endeavor.

I am doing almost the same, I am having breakfast with fruit juice then for lunch another fruit lunch acompany with fish and bricoli, then for dinner another juice or just water, I am going to the gim and doing one hour of exercises,I don't use sugar in juices, and add protein, that makes not feel hungry, and I don't add salt to the food, just garlic and zasoning.

That's good for you! If you're into fatty foods reduce that and so with carbohydrates because that's the one that makes a person bigger. Sweet foods also makes you bigger especially chocolates that contains saturated fats. I think you can really achieve your goal in life right now because it seems that you're really determined to do it and it's just a matter of self discipline also to avoid foods that makes you bigger.. Oh well keep it up! I think you're doing a great start.
