Do you stop and pick up kids?

That title actually sounds kind of bad. I mean like friends of your kids or maybe kids you know fairly well from the neighborhood. For instance yesterday my son and one of his friends was walking home from school and a mom of one of his other friends stopped and asked if they wanted a ride which they took since they know her and it was cold. If I see one of my kid's friends walking somewhere especially if it is really cold or really hot I will stop and ask them if they need a ride. Do you stop and give rides to people you know if you see them out walking somewhere?

I don;t drive, I don't have young kids anymore, but when my son was little he was warned not to go anywhere with anyone unless he had my approval first. There are just too many pedophiles around.

Well I hope my son's friends and their parents know me well enough to know I am not a pedophile, and I know them well enough too. If it was not a good friend but a casual friend of my son I would not allow him to get a ride from them. He knows that mom pretty well though as he has slept over at that friends house a few times and that boy has slept over here a few times as well.

Yes I would do it if one they I see friends of my son or the children of the neiborghood walking in extreme weather, because I don't know when I am going to need thei help or my son. Is good to do the good.

Exactly I feel bad when I see one of my kid's friends out there walking in bad weather or far away from home.

I hate to admit this but I often forget who my kid's friends are. I know them when they are at my house, but I might have trouble recognizing them when I see them at the store or something. I might think Oh that kid looks familiar but I usually won't remember their names. I am not home all that often and I don't know my kid's friends all that well. My wife knows them all really well though and they all love her, so I know she would pick them up if she saw them, but honestly I proably wouldn't even notice them walking down the street. I feel kind of bad about that now.

I am not so particular of if its is my friend's Son or the son of a person whom I know. If there are kids walking over the streets & want a lift, I am glad to give them a ride. I do give lifts to people whom I know...

When I was young and my daughter was in school, the school bus dropped all the kids off in the area at one stop and all the kids had to walk to their homes in the neighborhood. If it was raining I would go wait for my daughter and some of the kids that lived right near us would jump in too. Lots of parents waited on kids in the rain. Some parents even waited on kids when it was warm and sunny. The only time I went to pick her up is when it was cold, snow and ice on the ground, or raining. The kids seemed to like the walk... but appreciated it when I picked them up in bad weather.

I live in a pretty big city and most kids don't walk anywhere around here. There is way too much traffic. It would be quite dangerous. But, if I lived somewhere where kids do walk, I would offer them a ride (if my kids were with them). I wouldn't just offer a kid a ride any time I saw him/her without my kids with me, unless I was a really good friend of the family.

only if i know them well and they actually need a ride
