I knew some people, especially my friends, his wallet is like empty, and all he has just those plastic cards, like credit cards and debit cards. I still prefer to have some cash with me, in case of if some place won't take plastic cards, those cash would come in handy, like valet parking. Besides, I want to avoid to swipe those debit cards or credit cards as much as I can. Sometimes, I just afraid that I might lose control of them. And I am not good at keeping track of money I spent against the balance that still in the account. So for financial security sake, I still prefer to use cash, at least when the cash is gone, you knew that you already spent the allowable money you had in your pocket. What would you do?

I always carry some cash. I think that there are many situations when I need cash for instanse when I park the car, when I want to borrow a shopping cart, when I want to use a public toilet etc. In the most shops we are able to pay with credit cards, but there are some exceptions like some of the second hand shops and some of the small shops. When I carry cash in my wallet and it is much easier to buy something from one of those shops. Another advantage about cash is the knowledge about the money that I spend. When I use cash, I know much how money I have and I know when the money is gone. If I use a credit card it is harder to control the money that I spend.

I very rarely have cash on me and infact have ran into places that no longer except cash and have found that some will not refund cash, but will give you a store gift card. where as if you pay with a card and returned an item they would refund that money back to your card and you could use it at any store. Personally my husband or myself are on our online banking account multiple times a day so keeping track isn't that hard and some banks even have apps for your phone now to help with managing your bank accounts. All this being said my husband almost always has some amount of cash on him and feels that it might come in handy on the occasion someone doesnt accept cards when he's out.

I don't have credit cards and I'm not planning to have one. I prefer to carry some cash not huge though just an allowable amount just enough for what I want to buy. The good thing about carrying cash is when it's gone you won't be tempted to overspend. The bad thing if you were victimized by skilled pickpockets. There is also a greater chance for us to over spend if we have credit cards aside from the huge fees these credit card companies charges. It could be a shame too if you use the cards for a small amount you bought. We need small cash too for parking fees and tips.

I don't carry cash. I never do. If I know I will need cash I will make a purchase and get a cash back of $20 or whatever I think I need or I go to an ATM. I keep track of my money better that way.

I prefer to have money in my pocket rather than a credit card or checks or whatever becaue money is pretty much accepted everywhere! Plus money makes my wallet more padded, and I love a padded wallet! Since money is pretty much needed fo anything these days I like to keep a potion of my funds with me at all times just in case!

a pleasant day kingparker,
with regard to your main topic discussion, carrying at least a small amount of cash is a must. and this is safer rather than using debit and credit cards. aside from that, i agree to what you have mentioned, "that, when your cash is gone, you know that you have already spent the allowable money that you should be spending." and thru this, you are able to avoid spending beyond your means.
continue that great attitude, that is, spending only within your means.

I use cash most of the time and maintain a small amount in wallet and some coins that i carry . Its mostly used for basic necessities like for food and the bus fare and small items. I do carry debit cards around all the time but I rarely use the. I reserve them for emergency purposes. Just like you kingparker, I'm afraid to lose control of my finances especially with regards to the usage of debit cards and credit cards.Though its very convenient it brings a big headache when those bills arrive and those interest rates that keep racking up will make you sick.

I don't have a credit card simply because I know that I would be tempted when I have one. A lot of credit card agents have tried to encourage me into getting one but none of them were successful. I only have debit card where I put my savings account and I don't use it to purchase things. I don't always carry it with me too. Like you, I want to avoid using these cards. If pocket's almost empty, at least I would easily know when to tell myself to stop buying things or going out.

hi king, as strange as it may sound, but I like to use cash
also..because I know exactly what I am spending..when its in
the bank I might feel like I can spend more tha I can see..
I am sure a lot will disagree with my policy but its me and my
preference...I love to be able to look into my wallet and see
cash..regardless of how much or how little...and most of the
time it is little....lol lol lol
