Are you guys excited for Christmas, are you feeling stressed out about it... both? I'm just starting to think about what I'm going to buy my parents. I have no idea, especially because of mothers day, fathers day, and both of their birthdays were not too long ago. I already bought them all the ideas I had and it was difficult enough thinking up anything then. What are your ideas for gifts, have you bought any yet? Are any of you hosting Christmas and having a lot of family over, because then that leaves for a big set up and clean up which is always pretty stressful. My parents aren't hosting but we are for Thanksgiving and I'm not really looking forward to it.

its going to be a rather poor Christmas this year, I am looking around for cheaper things that look good for presents, I do love the social side of things of Christmas, getting together with friends, Christmas does bring out the best in us all I think.

yeah I do agree with that, but I wish I could love Christmas half as much as I used to as a kid. It almost seems like more of a hassle at times which is sad. It can be nice getting together with family although sometimes I wish it would be less people lol but this year I don't think there's anyone thats not close family thats coming. I don't think you really need to go all out on Christmas, cheap gifts are alright, it really is the thought that counts. Loved one's generally don't mind if you don't go spending a crazy amount of gifts, mosts prefer it.

yes Christmas is the best when you are a kid, enjoy as much of it as you can while you have your family, my parents are gone now and this in itself makes Christmas a sad rime for me, it would be good to have Christmas back as it was ....

Usually I am my family don't used to celebrate Christmas much but we(I and my sister) used to make payasam(very tasty),which is very popular in Kerala . This is what we do in most of the Christmas days.
What about you ?
How you celebrate your Christmas ?

I've never heard of payasam, maybe I should look into making it lol. Sometimes I can be a picky eater and I'm not always opened to trying new things, I tend to eat the same foods over and over lol. As for me I usually just spend time with my family. Im upset my grandmother is too old to make it down here like she usually does, but hopefully we'll visit New York soon after Christmas to have a late celebration with her.

I'm always excited about Christmas because Christ my Savior is the reason for this season! This is the reason why I've decorated and put up my Christmas tree as early as October. I want the Christmas season to be as long as possible so I started decorating my home a month earlier. But I never allow Christmas to be stressing. I'd rather enjoy the season than being stressed about it. I simply enjoy decorating my home to feel more the Christmas spirit within and I also do enjoy shopping for gifts as well. I need not spend lavishly I just buy things within my budget. Anyway Christmas will always be beautiful for as long as the reason for the season remains the most important in each and every one's heart.

thats great, it really is a time to get together with loved one's. I'm lucky that right now I see my parents every day so it really isn't that much of a change up for me. My cousins also live very close to me so them coming over also isn't too much different although I haven't seen them in a while they still live very close. I hope you have a great Christmas!

I'm very excited about Christmas. The only thing that ruins my excitement is that this will be my first Christmas without my grandmother. She was the main host and coordinator of Christmas so this year will likely be a lot different without her. However, it will hopefully still be good being around other family members that I love.

thats good. I'm glad your so excited about it! I'm sorry about your grandmother. My grandmother is getting older and is in her mid 80's now so she can't make the trip over here anymore. Plus she is depressed and going through some emotional troubles so that on top of old age, back problems and that sort of thing, she doesn't want to make the trip over. Last year was the first year that she hasn't stayed at our house on Christmas and it was a lot different and that might be what took the joy out of Christmas for me now. I hope that you and your family can still have a good time.
