Ok my brother and his family will live here with me for the winter and i`m fine with that .My brother brought a lot of boxes and in many of them there were different old computer parts. So i looked at them and since i had some old computer parts i was able to build a workable 1 Ghz P III .Well it doesn`t work too great on internet (i`m not sure why because 2 years ago i was using an old computer just like this one for browsing but i can play nice games on it like Diablo 2 (i already killed Andariel ) Jagged Alliance or Shogun Total War.It`s nice because i have a big problem with my video card on my good PC and i can`t play any game since i can only use it without a driver. So i`m happy with my new old PC
Do you still use your old PC to play old games you liked or to browse on internet ? If you have an old computer try to make it work and you will learn a lot doing it.

my first computer was company issued; they have since stopped from supplying computers to their employees and we were asked to return the set (so we had to buy our own. the monitor though of that pc set up is still at my place waiting for pick up and is being used as a ermmm shelf? for lack of better term for some toys and knickknacks of mine
the laptop i bought to replace the said pc is now more or less 3 years old, and except for a flaky battery life it still works well (knock on wood, haha)

I do have few old computers. To save the space of my home, I shall send them for recycling.
After using my new laptop and my new desktop, I am totally reluctant to on my old desktops.
They are extremely slow to go online.
I feel boring to play those old games too.
ha! ha! I shall catch up the latest trend of the technology, to let me move faster.
Now, I never think about turning on my three old Pentium 4 computers. They will waste me a lot of time.

It`s ok if you can afford to buy a new computer or have a new computer but for many people that is still a luxury. And if you like to play old games like me then it`s no use to do it on a new computer since that will be a waste of resources. But if you hate the old games then the old computers are useless.

Yes, my PC is sort of old and I hate it. It has been almost 10 years and as you said the games are not playable. I tried playing the NFS Shift but couldn't due to no pixel shader support (While it demanded 3.0 or more) which is due to an outdated graphics card.
So yes I still use an outdated PC (And I hate it).

Yeah i hate my computers too but since there is nothing i can do i must fool myself and think i love them ( but the truth is i hate them )
I know about the pixel shader 3.0 problem i missed a lot of games because i never had a good video card but the truth is you can play a lot of older games if you have a decent video card and some of them are amazing. For example the best game i played so far was Gothic 2 (at least i liked it )and that one doesn`t need pixel shader 3.0

Oh, you are very skilled and knowledgeable about computers. Well, I should say I am using old computers. I have a desktop and a laptop. I have been using them for more than six years now. I am not going to change to new ones yet, since they are working quite normally and well. I carry along the laptop whenever I travel too.

I have never been that much good in the internals of a computer. I rely heavily on my brother or the IT guy at our office. I'm the type of person who falls for the looks of a laptop. The cooler it looks, the greater the chance I'll buy it. But the desktop I use I think is old. It's provided by the company and I think it's more than 3 or 4 years old. It still is sufficient in performing the job I do so I never bothered requesting for a new one or an upgrade.

One of my desktop is 5 years old, and one of laptop is 4 years old. So, they aren't antique yet, but it is consider old in my opinion. They are still usable, and I simply format the hard drive, and reinstall the operating system in them. One of them I install Windows xp, and I used it to practice Visual basic studio strictly. Another one I installed with Linux, Ubuntu, and I want to learn one or two things about Linux too. Definitely, they are good tool to use.

Yes many people will think a 5yo computer is old but the problem is what are you using it for ? Because many times it`s just a waste of money to use the latest computer to browse on web or to use it for small apps...not to mention the newer they are the more electricity they will waste. It is nice for those who have a laptop though because a laptop eats far less electricity than a desktop.

I do still use my old PC but not for Internet browsing or playing games.
I have set a few of my old rigs to work as my home router and file server(PC-based) using one of those freeBSD operating systems. I opted to use this one than a retail sold router since it has provided me several options which you cannot usually get in a commercially sold one like Parental control and multi-WAN capability.
Other than that, saving the environment by not throwing away these old PC parts is a good thing to do.

You must be a very techy person. Out of rthose junk you're able to built a usable computer. I am an engineer but frankly speaking I don't know how to assemble a PC. I'm acutally planning to enroll on a crash course that would help me understand. Wish me luck, and I hope the training I'm planning to enroll to will do miracles and help me out.

Well, at first (when I'm in junior high school) I had my P III computer, and yes, it was so old and so slow to use. I just hated it, even I couldn't play The Sims. The only things I played were those crazy small flash games and Age of Empires. But when I'm getting older, my brother upgraded my old computer, and now I have my great computer (because I can play whatever games I wanna play ). And I also have my Toshiba NB255-N250 now.
