Godmen & faith healers: Good for humanity?

They claim to be messengers of God on earth in contemporary world. They themselves or their ardent followers claim that they can heal both mental & physical illnesses and bring fortunes in your life. They cast magnetic attraction on followers & mesmerize thousands by employing their powers. Followers go hysterical under their magic spell and vow to surrender themselves completely to such messiahs.
There is a difference between spiritual gurus & god-men though, which I hope is obvious to many. Is self realization and managing our deeds & rewards best done by ourselves?
Do you believe god-men & faith healers are good for humanity? Do you have any close/personal experience?

I have had some energy healing done on me, however I asked before we started how they received the energy and all 3 of the women who have done it on me stated that they prayed to God for it. I do know that you have to be careful to go to people who do call upon God and not false profits.

There are many others who do so as well, with better result, not even get payed for it and the most interesting thing is: they don't claim to be a messenger or god at all. They are who they are and do what they have to do, feel to, are good at.
I don't believe in god, with me many don't, I do believe and know there are people who can heal although I also know it's ridiculious that they should heal anyone.
It's ment to be we all die. Even if it seems too early in our eyes. But that is not what life is about. We are not the ones who decide what is early or not.
We are just here to learn a lesson or to help out for a while and than it's time to go to the next level.
