I'm not sure if anyone of has ever heard of this action flick, as it hasn't out yet to the wide cinema until January 2012. The action flick title is "The Raid", or in Indonesian "Serbuan Maut". It's about an elite Indonesian SWAT team who intend to raid a building in Jakarta ruled by a powerful and feared crime lord. According to critics from Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), this movie has the potential to be the best action movie in 2012. Me myself haven't watch this movie, but eagerly anticipating it. Those lucky folks who watched The Raid premier in TIFF's Midnight Madness said that The Raid offers all kind of action you wish to watch ever. Fire guns fight, weapon fight to hand-to-hand combat with Indonesian speedy martial art called Silat. You may want to watch the trailer at Youtube: watch?v=uWlmhMSnVdM So, what do you think about it? Is anyone of you lucky enough to attend the last TIFF at Toronto - Canada? Share it with me.

Not just you, me too, we are proud of it :-) It's good that Gareth Evans along with Iko Uwais and Yayan could introduce this ancient martial art to the world viewers at its best. People now have alternative martial art action to watch beside kungfu, aikido and muay thai styles. Gan, do you practise silat too?

Hehe, it's the same case for me. By the way, yes .. he's very cool. No wonder he could impress many western action movie viewers via his movie debut Merantau, he is a true silat practitioner since he was kid! I read that in The Raid, he was in choreograph all martial arts actions and moves, together with Yayan Ruhian. Hint: In Merantau, Yayan Ruhian is the bodyguard from Padang who met Iko on the bus. He is the one Iko fights inside the lift, remember? Recent news of The Raid: + Mike Shinoda will arrange this movie's score for the North American movie release + Sub company of SONY (I believed it's Gems) is going to do a remake of The Raid in 2014 + I'm dying .. waiting to watch this movie :D
