Not Finding but creating

I couldn't agree more with this, I always used to think when I was younger that I needed to go someplace to go find my better me or my better life. Then I came back home discovered more about photography and nature and other things I now enjoy doing allot, plus the internet of course and from there everything has just kept growing and growing too. My love for movies, books, arts and crafts, flowers, music and on it keeps going and I can share it all with online friends who support and encourage what is better then all of this I am just not quite sure. Except some of the joys I get for caring for things weaker then myself like when I did CNA work at the local care center here and caring for pets and other small animals out doors. These things remind me that compassion and kindness does live within all of our hearts still so don't ever give up hope for yourself just as you are and where you are at now love who and where you are just as things are changing too much for anyone or anythings can be more of the cost then you might be willing to pay out too. Thanks,A.B.

Thank you Bluedoll, this is exactly what I was trying to get across here too. Nice to see it put down more to the point for everyone too. A.B.

This discussion made me think. Yeah, I agree that you no longer need to go to another place in order to discover yourself. I recently discovered a lot about myself going back to my hometown. Sometimes a blast from the past may actually be good for someone. Plus looking after my grandmother is something worth my while. I guess no matter where you are, you can always be yourself and no one can take that away from you. Creating things is better than always trying to find it.

Thank you cherriefic, I am glad that you see yourself from your hometown. I have some bits and pieces of this still but it is just too mixed up to remember properly now. We moved many times after living in my home town, so I lost much but not all of my memories. The really treasured ones are the only ones I choose to keep and hey do make me a bit of who I am but I make the rest. I agree creating is better than always trying to find it. Thanks,A.B.

This post and the answers are centered about a word that is very meaningful for me: discovering oneself. We all are what we are. It is beyond our capacities to change much although we can grow and develop our capacities. In order to do that, we must discover what they are and we must embrace them as something desireble. I have followed that path during my life (not an easy one at times) and now, old as I am, I feel that my life is what I wanted to live.

I definitely agree with that as well. It is strange how many people
think that they have to go to a new place to find themselves. Most
people do not even notice who they are after long searches and traveling.
The picture is correct thought life is not about finding yourself but
about creating yourself.
As well when you create yourself you can create yourself to be any thing
that you want to be. Now yeah you might have to obtain new knowledge to
create yourself but that is all apart of creating yourself. As well when
you are done creating yourself you will know who it is that you are. Nobody
can change that but you.

Thanks nerein, this is allot of what I have been thinking, researching, and even dreaming of now for a long time. I don't think these kind of changes can come just over night you do have to work at it for awhile too and then keep up that work until you are pretty satisfied with the person you are no too. If you are very focused and have the time for this one thing in life to develop your new self this may happen quicker, mine is so slow since i spread myself very thin by helping family so much right now too. Not all of my focus is where I need it to be all the time. I know this is true too once you have created this self, you are the only one who can truly change that too. This now becomes within your power. Thanks,A.B.

You don't need to go somewhere to find yourself or your better you or a better life.
The only thing you need to do is to discover yourself, find time for yourself by being with yourself. You discovered that and that is waht makes you a better you.
