I'm not a quitter but I just need to quit.

Some misunderstanding happened between me and my boss few days back and he's not talking to me. I ask his wife if there's something wrong why my boss isn't talking to me even if I did asked for an apology. I guess I need to quit my job and find another one. I can't stay in a job that even a boss doesn't want to talk to me. I admit it was my fault but I think I deserve a second chance. I've been working with him a year now and I've been loyal. That was just a little mistake and I know I don't deserve such a cold company. Well.. There are still some online sites that are willing to pay. They don't pay much but it will be big if I will work extra hard.. and I will do that! Sorry for the rant. I just need to express and myLot is the best place to do that. Hope you guys understand!

I didn't quit yet though. I'm still staying for a week and trying to take the cold company from him. If he still not talk to me within this week, I'll probably submit my resignation letter.

Okay. I'm not sure I understand. Do you want to OFFER an apology or RECEIVE an apology. Do you want to apologize or do you want him to apologize to you? The way tou wrote tour response made question because maybe I am understanding you wrong.

The way to a man's heart is through his stomach. Bake him an apple pie. Don't give up a good job simply because of a mistake. Did you know that almost all executives have made big mistakes before they were promoted. Stay at work no matter what. Give your boss smiles, love and kindness. Along with that apple pie, he'll get over it .

A peace offering is a good idea, I think. It can't hurt. I would not quit. Let them fire her, if they don't want you there.. don't just quit.

So sorry for you edsss. Maybe, you just have to talk first to your boss then decide after. Maybe, he's just having his time to think things over. Be patient, give him more time then after a month and still he's like that, then I think you can move on.

Hi Ate A. I've talked to him many times about this issue already and his response is still so cold but I'm willing to take another chance and will talk to him again this week and I'll give him a peace offering. I hope it works.

Maybe you can talk to him that what you did was not your intention. You have to think well before you quit your job, there is difficult to find a job now, I really want to get a job, but I haven't find one. But of course if your boss doesn't wants to understand and the situation is too bad of course you should quit. I am sorry about that and wish you the best on the online jobs.

I am trying to talk again with him. I hope it will work! Honestly, I wouldn't want to leave. Been working there for almost a year now and I have my heart their. But if he still doesn't accept my apology, then I'll quit even if it calls me a quitter.

That's very unprofessional of him to stop talking to you. If there is something wrong he should discuss it so it would be solved and you could move past it. Well I don't blame you if you wanted to quit.

Aww thanks swirlz for understanding my situation. Like I said above, I've tried everything I can to approach him and I even pass a letter of apology to him. All I did is a minor problem. A little error in one of my paper work and I even don't know why he is acting like this. If he still don't talk to me until next week, I'll submit my resignation letter.

I think you should approach your boss first before deciding whether to leave the company or not. You have stayed for 1 year, I guess your relationship with your boss before is quite good right, so I think you will not shy or scared to approach him right? If he insists not talking to you, then I think you should leave and find another job. Good Luck!

my lady, Sorry to hear about this. If you think quitting is the best then go for it. It's not easy to work with people who treated us cold and we do not feel comfortable at all. I know this is a hard decision for you...so think about it...twice,thrice and a lot more.

Hi my lady. I know right? I don't like to be treated cold. If they don't want my presence then they should have told me. I'm so not used to it, especially with my boss. He is very cool and friendly and he turned out like this in just a little paper work error. So sad.

I don't actually know or understand how you've been estranged with your boss. But one thing I know though is that communication is key to all misunderstandings. If your boss just doesn't speak but never asked you to quit, maybe he's just cooling down. One year is long enough for them to consider your stay with the company. Like in every other relationship, misunderstanding may occur. But this changes for the better over time, and not immediately. He may just need space to forget and move on. I suggest that you still stick with the company if they are not asking you to leave. Though 1 year is long enough, still, it is short enough to totally bond with your co-employees, superior and other members of the organization. This is just my suggestion. Good luck!!!

Am sorry if I'm being too unclear here. Well, I've tried any possible ways to start a discussion but he really doesn't talk. His wife told its better I won't approach him or I'll add fire to the situation. I dunno that a little paper work error can lead to this situation!

I agree that if your boss wanted you to quit, he would have told you that. Maybe he is trying to see that you are capable of staying to your current position and that you deserve a second chance. I would suggest that you don't quit and try your best to prove him that he can trust you and that you won't make the same misake again. I wish you good luck!

In a nurse's perspective, quitting doesn't always necessarily mean that you are a loser. there is a thing we call in our practice as coping mechanism. if you feel you need to withdraw yourself from a stressful situation, then do it as a way to relieve stress. Coping mechanisms are helpful in relieving stress. you need to cope with the situation you are currently suffering from because later on stresses such as this will affect your mind functioning and health as well.

If I were you, I wouldn't quit. You will be a quitter if you quit. You haven't been fired or asked to leave. I don't know what you did that caused your boss to be upset with you, but if you owe them an apology, go ahead and give them a sincere one and wait to see what happens. No need to quit and try to make a living online, because you will be sorely disappointed with the results. Worry about that if they fire you.. if they don't fire you.. then give it time to blow over. Whatever you did wrong, just give a heartfelt apology and then just give them time to get over being upset with you. They will be more upset if you quit. If you quit, you don't leave a good reference for yourself with this boss.

I totally get your frustration. I am currently employed by a company that gives their employees very little respect. I am not one to except less when I put my time and energy into a job. Sometimes employers or supervisors forget that we are human. If the bosses remember when they where in our shoes, trying putting our best foot forward, they would be more forgiving. Remember everybody has to work there way up. I say explore other means of earning pay. That way when you do quit you can earn still and keep your sanity. Until the next steady pay comes along!! Bye the way I don't remember signing up to be treated like dirt when I applied!!!! Stay strong!!

Hi there... Please don't quit until you find another. If you've made a mistake then you can leave a message to him. A card, for example! Leave it in a way that'll make him feel you honestly regret your mistake. Or take him and his wife for dinner, or just invite them home... Note this, you can't make a lot of money online. So don't quit until you get another job... Good Luck!!!

I can understand what you are going through because I am sailing in the same boat just now. I have been in my present Company for over two years and just now my boss is harassing me a lot. Am trying for better options or else trying to see if I can earn a good amount sitting at home through my computer. Then I can sit at home till I find myself a better job.

Sorry for the late response, but between school and dealing with cancer treatments and being in and out of the hospital I haven't been in here much. I'm just curious if this situation ever got resolved. Did your boss ever start talking to you again or did you follow through and quit? I hope that you had something (other than online work) lined up before you took any drastic action. I understand how hard it is to be in a place where no one wants to talk to you, but if you need the money you do what you have to do. I hope things are going better now. Have a great weekend!!!

I can understand you. It's really uncomfortable being in a situation like that. You will sometimes feel unappreciated. I had the same experience before. I made a small mistake that my boss (company owner) became really disappointed with me. He speaks to me but it's very casual and cold unlike the way he speaks with my other colleagues. It took a lot of time before he appreciated me again. It was really hard and I could resign as there were so much things to consider as I was working outside the country then. I don't know what happened that eventually he seems to like me and appreciates me so much, made me so busy with all the works. He doesn't give me loads of work when he was still upset with me. He started to greet me and asked how my day was and even given me a raise when other colleagues were secretly asking for a raise (i've seen they're letter request without my name on it) So I guess maybe he was just trying to cool down. If the mistake you made is not too much, I don't think you need to quit the job yet. But if goes on like this too long then it's time to really consider quitting.

When did this whole 'coldness' thing started? I guess you should give him some time at least a month, because as what you were saying what you did is just a tiny mistake and he's over reacting. As a responsible boss what he can do is to help help you out or advise avoiding such mistake again. Otherwise he did lose a great business deal, we can easily understand his coldness - but he should at least be professional. I made a few error on my first comment sorry have to correct it now. I did not resign that time because I was in another country and resigning is not the option as it could be give me more headaches if I did.
