I am in bed with a flu since yesterday. I don't know where I got sick but I met a friend of mine on Subday that also had a flu but she was recovering. Do you think that I might have got sick from her after so many days?
What do you do if a friend of yours says that he was sick, do you try to avoid him or you go out as usual with the possibility to get sick as well?

It is quite possible that you got the illness from her, since it is usually when the person is getting better that the germs transfer or something like that. Just to be safe, I keep a distance from a sick friend, I am sure she or he will understand, but is rarely happens since a sick person doesn't work or go to school.

Yap, your right it would be really be impolite on our part to stay away from friends who is sick or had been sick. But I guess if they knew that their sickness can be transferred or contagious he /she should do the effort to be very careful to make contact with friends or just stay at home to recuperate.By the way thanks for the BR my friend.

I will be more careful from now on because it's the second time this autumn that I am getting sick. The thing is that, I can't ask them to stay in distance if I meet them outside or at work, it would be inpolite. I also have the habit to kiss everyone when we meet and it makes it worst! Thank you for your advice :)

Have you not taken a flu shot this year yet ? It is advisable to take the flu shot. Otherwise, one get catch flu from people who has got the flu. If I have a flu, I would not go close to other people, and if possible I would just stay at home.

No, I only take the flu shot when there is a serious flu around, like the one 2 years ago. Maybe I should consider it because I am very sensitive but doesn't it reduce the ability of our immune system to develop naturally antibodies?
Anyway, I am staying away from everyone this weekend :)

It is very possible that you got it from her.
Just drink lots of water and take vitamins and have a fast recovery! :)
When you have contact with sick people sometimes there is no way to avoid them while they fully recover so I don't think avoiding sick friends is always an option.Plus now is the flu season and with the cold weather you will be around sick people whether you like it or not.
Get well soon!

@besweet If someone I knew wasn't well then I would stay away. Especially nowadays with awful illnesses going around. Better to be safe than sorry I think.
